Galt Baby Nest
Advantages: Geat nest
Disadvantages: Divebombing off the side
I bought this play nest when my daughter was around 3 months old. She was born 3 months early so she wasn't actually able to move in the play nest but I wanted somewhere for her to sleep for naps as she refused to go in her crib/swing/bounce, you get the picture lol. I bought mine second hand on ebay for around £15. I've seen it new for £40ish which I think is excessive.
I found the Galt nest very easy to assemble. It has a blow up ring which you insert into the material then blow it up, I first tried to blow the ring up then put the material on. Obviously this didn't work! There is also 12 tubes which connect to make a canopy which rainforest animals hang from. I set this up but took it back down again as it made the ring difficult to move due to the tubes collapsing. As I didn't need them up then it worked for me to take them off but if you've bought it specifically for the hanging animals this could be a big negative if you ever want to move it. The galt play nest is completely machine washable, which is a massive plus point in my opinion. I don't know if it's just my baby but she seems to attract grubbiness like a magnet.
If using for a newborn then you only inflate the ring halfway so they sort of sink in to it. If it's inflated anymore than that then they have a tendency to bounce off it, which obviously is not good for the baby. My baby always seemed very comfortable in here and it worked for what we wanted it for. It's supposed to last up to 9 months but my daughter stopped using it at around 6 because she was throwing herself over the sides in an attempt to get out. I personally don't think the 9 month recommendation is suitable as it could be quite dangerous.
All in all I was happy with this nest, I would not pay full price for it however as it only really worked for her naps. She never really got to play in it as I felt it was dangerous. Which is probably me being a paranoid first time mummy but I don't like the idea of my daughter dive bombing into the floor no matter how small the height is. 4 stars from me!
Summary: I would buy again but not at full price
