Advantages: great for teaching a child to sit

Disadvantages: not suitable after child starts to move

This was an item I purchased when I had my first daughter 7 years ago; I purchased it from the studio Christmas book for £25

It is basically an inflatable ring with a soft cloth cover to sit your baby in.

When I first saw this in the catalogue I thought it was a great idea as it would be ideal for when my daughter first began to try to sit up on her own, sitting her in this was going to be a lot safer than having to put pillows around her on the floor so that she wouldn't hurt her self when she fell over.

It is really easy to inflate and it is easy to deflate for storage, the cover to it comes off easily and is machine washable so is ideal if you have a sickly baby like my daughter was, it was washed many times and still looked as good as new, the material didn't fade or miss shape at all.

The outer cover of the ring is a multi sensory cover, this basically means it has different materials on it that have different feels to them or make different noises when they are touched by baby, my daughter loved this and really enjoyed feeling the different textures and hearing the different sounds.

It is advertised as being a safe play area for babies and toddlers but I have to disagree with this as by the time my daughter started to crawl she would try to get out of this and end up falling on her head, she would also put a lot of pressure on the out side of the ring causing the valve to open and the ring to deflate which wasn't very good but as a toy to teach sitting up safely it was very good but I do think it was very expensive for the short amount of use it got
