When you have a baby the choice and range of options fo ryour little one to sit and lie is amazing. I bought my son a Galt baby play nest when he was a few months old from a neighbour for £10.
What is it?
The baby nest is simply a large inflatable ring which is covered with a washable cloth which is brightly coloured and has different textures. The Baby nest is also available with a baby Gym over the top but we had only the ring.
Setting up the ring is simple but exhausting. It is important when you inflated the ring that it is on partially inflated before placing in the cloth ring otherwise it will not fit inside. Once complete it is ready for your little one.
Galt do say this Product is suitable from but was happy for my son to go in it once he could sit up comfortable with little support The ring pictures are separated by different colour backgrounds and features a variety of farm items such as a tractor, scarecrow, duck sheep and pig. All these different pictures have different textures and feels, the sheep has a woolly type back, the ducks beak quacks, and there is a rabbit with spots on and a barn door which has a crinkle door.
I started using this for my son when he was able to sit up at about four months old. He did like sitting up in it and he really enjoyed been able to sit up and watch what was going on around him. He was fascinated with the pictures around the edge and as he grew and became more mobile seemed to get more pleasure from these. He was very happy to sit in the ring and watch TV which I hate to admit was his favourite activity as a baby .He was clearly comfy in his ring as he did fall asleep in it a few times. I also did find that as he got more tired he did slide down the ring and end up more lying that sitting. The inside of the ring was bright and colourful with Yellow as the main colour with blue spots. Although not particularly padded it was sat on a thick rug.
I actually stopped using the ring when my son was crawling and kept crawling in and out like it was a bridge and it seemed to lose its purpose and felt unsafe.
Despite out ring been second hand and needing to be washed a couple of times due to baby sick it did not fade and remained bright and colourful and did not particularly show signs of wear.
I personally did like the bright colours, and variety of textures. It was also a great way for my son to sit up with a little support and when he did slump he didn't end up banging his head on the floor.
We did store the ring on its side behind the sofa when it was not in use as it does take up quite a lot of room. We actually took it on holiday and partially deflated it to fit in the car but it still took a lot of effort to inflate once again.
When my son had grown out of it I sold it on eBay and actually made a profit so from my experience not only did it prove a fin way of sitting my son up with support it also cost me nothing so clearly a resell able item. Even if I had not made a profit I would recommend the Baby nest.
I do think this one of my more useful purchases for my son when he was a baby and have found that it is available on Amazon for £23.99 with free postage but I certainly think it is worth looking around and checking out eBay as these items are a very useful item but used for a very short period of time.
Summary: Highly recommended
