Advantages: A lifesaver!!
Disadvantages: A bit expensive
Salvation for me was an impulse buy in John Lewis four days ago........
I had heard that this swing was a good thing to get and had seen quite a few people asking to buy it, but wasn't sure if my son would like it as he doesn't like sitting in his rocker.
It was on sale so I thought 'what have I got to lose?'
I brought it home and I put him in it.......it was bliss!!!!!!
He normally refuses to lie down by himself for more than 5 minutes at a time but happily sat in here for 45 mins!!!!
I hadn't even bought the batteries yet, but this swing is so great I could very easily push him in it and it takes ages to stop!!
The swing itself is very nice, it is the shape of a car seat but is shorter, allowing even a very small baby to kick their legs about.
It has head holding cushions to support young babies' heads and is nicely padded.
It has various rocking speeds and a music box, which I hate but he is transfixed by!!
It also has two toys on the tray which he has not shown interest in yet, being only 6 weeks old!!
The day I bought it, I was so impressed I wanted to run and write a review immediately, but I have restrained myself until now, and I must say this must be the best thing I have bought for him so far!!!
I used to have to give him his dummy when he grizzled - now I just pop him in the chair....
Even getting him to sleep is not a problem, I dont have to sit there rocking him, he will drop asleep in it.
I really cannot say enough about it!!
I would not hesitate to recommend this to any mother in fact, my only regret is that I waited so long to get one!!!
