“ Brand: Graco / Type: Swings „
Well experienced parent-friends of ours recommended that we invest in a automatic swinging chair before our baby was born in April this year. This was one of the better pieces of advice that we received whilst expecting!
Looking at new swinging chairs on the internet, we were horrified to see the price tags; some were over £100! We headed (in a virtual sense of the word) to eBay where there were lots to choose from, including this model which we picked up for a measly £10. We searched by location so we could just go and pick it up rather than attempt to have a rather bulky, unwieldy item posted.
The chair is suspended (securely!) on a frame and has six rocking settings. It also has a selection of nursery rhymes (albeit extremely tinny ones) to play while your little one is being rocked. The volume of the tunes has 3 settings and blissfully an 'off' switch.
The chair can be partially reclined and has an adjustable head hugger so even newborns can use it. It has a three point harness and a tray which clips in front of your child to keep them securely in. Fortunately, all these adjustments have been very easy to carry out. As we got it secong hand, there were no instructions but we have not had any problems with how to work the chair. There is also a revolving mobile of teddies above the chair which can be removed, but our little girl loves it.
In our experience, this is a great product. For the first 3 months of our daughter's life this chair would calm her and sometimes send her to sleep. It is so helpful at first when you are reluctant to put your baby down. It is easily moved into different rooms of the house so you can have your baby with you but have your hands free. Your baby can look at what you are doing and you can easily chat together, or they can sleep soundly with the rocking movement and tunes.
I was a bit unsure about whether this product would be a good investment. It takes 4 large C batteries which added to the cost, but we haven't had to change these in four months and the chair did get used most days. It is also bulky even when folded. Even though we don't use it much now as our daughter prefers her Bumbo (see review) or play gym, I think it was well worth having it for the first three months of her life.
This swing offers 6 speeds and a selection of 15 classical and nature tunes that allow you to choose the soothing experience that's just right for your baby! The rotating, removable mobile offers visual stimulation with charming soft toys and the innovati
