You can get several different Hedstrom Swings. There are ones with gliders or see-saws or double swings etc. But the one we've got is just the bog standard Hedstrom Junior Single Swing. We got ours from Argos in the sale for just £9.99 but this usually retails for £14.99 - £19.99 depending on which store you buy it from. They still have some of these left at the sale price in a few Argos stores but you've got to be really quick.


Hedstrom is a good solid brand name that has been around for years. That's why I was surprised to find this item at such a low price but quick off the mark getting my wallet out. This swing came boxed and had to be assembled at home but this wasn't too difficult. All the parts were present and the instructions were straightforward. Well, after three kids and a grandson it's not like I needed them but first-timers would hopefully find them easy to follow!


I had the swing up and ready to go in about twenty minutes. When the grandson got home from playgroup he was thrilled to find his new swing ready to go in the back garden. The daughter was equally impressed (she had no idea I'd bought it). The grandson is coming up for 4yrs old and this swing is suitable from 3 - 10yrs (up to 45kgs) so he's an ideal weight and age for this. The seat was a good size for him and he was comfortable holding onto the ropes.


This swings really easily and the frame is reassuring solid compared to some of the worringly flimsy ones you get these days. There were metal pegs for anchoring this into the ground with too which means that even the most ambitious swingers will hopefully avoid any accidents. At this price I've got to give it five stars. I'd recommend this swing even at full retail price though and would still feel I'd got good value for money.
