Lindam Baby Bouncer
Advantages: its good fun, safe and secure
Disadvantages: it extremely difficult to get baby in
When she was younger my daughter was always full of beans and I felt we really needed something where she could release some of her energy. I looked at lots of different bouncers, but I always feel that it is better to get well known brands to insure they are of good quality.
I saw this lindam baby bouncer in Argos, and I immediately thought it looked good. I got the orange version, but they also come in pink and blue. The lindam baby bouncer attaches firmly to the door frame (I would definitely check it a couple of times to insure it's attacked properly) it has an upside down T shape which contains the springs to allow baby to bounce. This also holds the straps for the chair that baby sits in.
The chair is padded for extra comfort and comes high up baby's front and back to insure they don't fall out. The seat also has a small lindam badge on the front. The seat opens up either side I'm presuming this is meant to be helpful to get baby in, but it certainly is not. It was so difficult to get her in to it, we actually needed 2 people to get her in, this was a nuisance when daddy was at work because we couldn't use it. Even with 2 of us it was still extremely difficult. The bar is to low down and she kept hitting her head while we were trying to get her in.
However despite taking 15 minutes to actually get her in she did love it.
It was so much fun for her and for me watching her bouncing around laughing. It would keep her entertained for around 20 minutes each time, so that also gave me a break for a cup of tea. The seat is fully washable, which is ideal for little dribblers!
The straps are adjustable as well so that is really useful for growing babies. The seat also has additional clips as well as Velcro straps, so once they are actually in there, it is safe. However it is highly recommended that babies are constantly watched while using this bouncer. Another little problem I found, which is not really to do with the product however, is that if you have wood floor baby can slip and slide around, especially if they have socks on. I just put a cushion under her feet and that made it easier for her.
I would recommend getting a bouncer, but I'm not sure I would recommend this one. But it does work well once you have actually managed to get baby in.
*Suitable for babies who can hold their head up unaided, typically from 3-15mths (max. weight 12kgs, approx. 26lbs)
This can be bought for around £20.
Summary: a lot of hassle!
