I had already bought a baby gym when I saw this one but I couldn't resist.
Unlike many other baby gym toys this looked much thicker and more comfortable for a baby to spend time on their backs on and great for tummy time too!. My daughter's room is jungle themed but my living room is much more natural toned, so I decided to keep my brightly coloured gym in her room, and keep Barnaby Button downstairs to fit with the colour scheme and keep some variety in her play times.
The gym is shaped like a teddy bear, with a large cushioned head and the two play gym bars cross over, and fasten onto his feed with toggles.
Each bar has removable soft toys, some of which make noises, others of which have plastic rings attached. They are attached with velcro so you can remove these toys and attach them to the pram, or any other toys your baby may be using.
She did look very warm and comfortable on this mat/gym but unfortunately didn't pay much attention to the toys and what was going on above her. When I looked further into it it turns out that younger babies are much more drawn to sharp black and white contrasting colour, then ask they get older more bold colourful colours. This gym being beige, brown and white, it really didn't grab her attention much.
I ended up using my colourful baby gym quite a lot more than this one, as it grabbed her attention more and she could follow the moving toys a lot easier.
It's such a pretty little gym, and very comfy for baby, but could benefit from the colour scheme being a little more dramatic.
When i was pregnant i wanted to have everything i for my baby and had all the mother and baby magazines. Mamas & papas always got awards for there products from mother and baby so i decided to get my things from mamas & papas.
I choose the barnaby buttons range as it was all in cream, brown and white.
I did my skyes nursery in the barnaby buttons and had to have this super cute playgym.
I ordered it from mamas & papas and cost around £35.00 but i was not disappointed when it arrived.
The teddy that my baby lay on its so cosy and padded made from velour.
The arch has buttons on each end that tie onto each corner on the playgym.
The corners of the playgym are the teddy bears paws all done in textured fabric with one for teething, a squeak, rattle and chime.
The hanging teddies can come off and they don't do much in the way of noise and the main teddy hangs in the middle has a mirror that's is really but the thing i like about the arch is the teddies hang down low so babies can reach them, most playgyms i looked at the toys were high up would take month for the baby to get them.
The mat can be used from birth and i loved putting my skye down on it when she was awake she was so engrossed by the teddy's moving and so comfortable with the thick padded plush mat.
This really is the best playgym i have seen so far i recommend it.
Mamas and Papas have such a great range for babies and this snugglerug is no exception. The padded mat is a lovely soft place to put baby while you carry on with the chores.
It's only really useful for about 4-5 months, as soon as they start rolling and crawling it gets left behind. But until then it has lots of features to stimulate your baby's senses.
The "paws" crinkle when touched and the nose plays a tune. The removable gym bars have soft toys attached (these can be removed). Each toy has a different secret to explore, one rattles, another squeaks, my baby's favourite had a mirror.
The downsides - well the biggest one for me is that it's not machine washable, so any spillages have to be hand washed and left to dry. Also it's £50 which is a big outlay for 5 months use.
I had mine as a leaving gift from work, it's a really nice present. Mamas and Papas quality is always excellent quality, but you pay for it.
This luxuriously padded playmat features Barnaby Button with a soft velour head and body, plus many activities Features: - Fun melody when you press his nose - Crinkle material - Rattles - Squeakers - Safe mirro
