“ Brand: Mothercare / Type: Play Mats „
We were bought the Mothercare 'Loved So Much' playmat and gym as a gift from my sister just before my little son was born. It arrived in a large plastic zip up bag and looked huge!
Once our son was born we opened the playmat up and was so impressed. The playmat/gym is essential a big bear. The big cushioned bear base is plush and excellent quality with a padded ring all the way round, padded paws with rattles inside and the padded feet have crackly material inside. Along with the base you get 2 flexible arches and 5 detachable toys. The bear mat has higher cushioned sides which keep your newborn secure and gentle cradle. The arches and toys are designed to help improve hand eye coordination, visual development and concentration. It is also washable meaning any dribbles or spills will easily come out in the wash
The Loved So much playmat is designed to be used from birth and is priced at around £44.99. Although this seems alot you really get a quality item that lasts well and will entertain your child as they grow.
To assemble the 2 arches clip into the base of the bear cushion, then the 5 toys attach to rings on the arches. It is simple and quick to assemble and will not collapse.
Our little son loved it, when he was newborn he loved to just lie on it looking at the dangling toys above him, then as he grew he would spend ages batting the toys. Once he got more mobile he would do his tummy time on the bear and move around grabbing the paws to create a rattle and scrunching up the crackly paws.
Even now at nearly 9 months old he is still using the bear. We have removed the arches and toys and he will happily sit on it and play with his toys and crawl all over it.
The Loved So much playmat also coordinates with the Loved So much nursery range and bedding if you want to do a theme.
For £44.99 it isnt the cheapest gym/playmat on the market but it is excellent quality, a lovely design and grows with your child. Even after plenty of pulling and battering off our son the quality stood up and nothing broke or tore.
