Priced between £45 and £50, this is a little expensive, but from my daughters reaction, well worth the money spent! She is now 8 months old and has been enjoying ot for 4 months so far. The Play-dee-bug is suitable for children from as soon as they are able to sit with support. The soft fabric seat - easy to remove for washing - has 4 positions to allow for growth of legs, and the lowest position hugs a smaller baby quite nicely in the seat. It is also fully rotatable, but a small baby cannot do this themselves. The main body is of rigid plastic construction, easy to put together and sturdy once constructed. The front legs are rigid but the back ones are springy, allowing your baby to bounce. Around the Play-dee-bug are a number of toys. There is a twirling sunflower with noisy beads in, which my daughter especially liked right from the start. Next is a clear wheel with an inner wheel containing pictures of butterflies, which spins around. On the front, the antennae are great to pull on, and are nicely textured, as well as the balls on the end containing beads in one and a caged object in the other which rattle. My daughter holds onto these while 'running' and ' (it doesn't go anywhere) and thoroughly enjoys it! On the other side is the "large snack tray". I don't think it is especially large, just large enough for a trainer cup. Also on this tray is a multi-beaded and textured worm which slides along a track down through a hole to under the tray. The Play-dee-bug provides a variety of textures motions and noises to amuse a baby for a reasonable period of time. Even so, I do feel that perhaps a little more variety could have been included. Having said that, it is pretty expensive, but is worth the money in my opinion for the time it can be used to sit a baby in so you know they won't fall over/crawl away and are amused at the same time. However, it is a bit bulky if
you have a small room. We recently moved into a house with a far smaller living room than we had and it is a little in the way at times. It's probably nearly a metre long, and about half as wide. Also about half a metre tall. By Safety 1st, I bought this with confidence and it has not failed me yet. I bought mine from the Look Again catalogue, but have also seen it in a couple of independant toy shops.
Play dee bug is a giant ladybird rocker made by safety first. This toy is exciting fun and will keep any baby happy and content for hours. It encourages exploration in a safe enviroment. The play dee bug has a many great features like bouncing, spinning play and large colourful interactive toys which surround babys seat.Baby bounces in the seat which is made of strong cloth, designed in little bugs,if it gets dirty you can put it in the washing machine. The seat swivels 160 degrees so that he or she can gain access to the play tray which is also a handy snack tray. The lady bug adjusts as your baby grows and has three height settings,it has been made of high standard and I feel happy knowing that my baby can play in comfort and safety. Priced at £45 pounds I think it is great value for money. The only thing that might be a problem if you dont live in a very big house is that it takes up quite a bit of space but is worth every penny spent. There is some assembly but I found the instructions clear and easy to follow and the only tool that is needed is a phillips head screwdriver. Overall I found it easy to assemble. My baby loves his rocker, the enjoyment he gets from this toy is amazing,at 7 months old and loves to bounce so this was the perfect gift for him.He loves the caterpillar toy which lives in the play tray and makes him laugh and puts a smile on my face too. If you have the space then every baby who has the fortune to own this lovable friend and playmate will bounce and play to their hearts content. Happy baby means a very happy mum!! Thanks safety 1st.
