      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A fabulous mat I'm glad I bought :)

      *** What is it? ***

The Soft Play Zone ABC / 123 Coloured Play Mat is a brightly coloured, soft foam interlocking play mat for use at home, to protect little ones against bumps and bruises on hard floors. It can also be used outside.

      *** Why did I buy? ***

I bought the Soft Play Zone ABC / 123 Coloured Play Mat because before my husband and I purchased our first house and put down a soft carpet, we lived in an apartment with a hard floor. Our little one was just starting to crawl and I was worried she'd either face plant the floor, or slip in her socks as she tried to stand, and hurt herself.

I bought the play mat to go in the corner of our lounge which we used as a toy corner.

      *** Price and Availability ***

The Soft Play Zone ABC / 123 Coloured Play Mat is very widely available, we purchased ours from an independent toy shop on sale for £10 however the usual RRP is around £20 and is available in Argos, on Amazon.co.uk, in some supermarkets and at Toys R Us and Mothercare. It is very easy to find though do shop around as it is often on offer.

      *** Looks ***

The mat comes in a variety of bright but soft colours (ie, not shocking primaries, more vibrant pastels) and each interlocks, the a-b-c pieces are interchangeable with the 1-2-3's. Each piece has a number or a letter in the centre which pops out and can be used as a learning aid.

When it is put together, it looks very attractive and suitable for both girls and boys. It adds a soft touch to the toy corner of a hardwood floor, I really like it.

      *** Safety ***

The foam mat pieces are a good half inch thick which doesn't sound a lot but it adds vital padding to any hard floor and is the difference between a few tears and a full on injury when you have a crawling or toddling little one. It also means if you have the type of baby as I did who will fall asleep on the floor they are insulated against the cold (before you rescue them and put them in their cot!).

The pieces are slightly textured and grip well not only together but also on the shiniest of laminates, meaning they are quite non-slip and safe to walk on in socks or bare feet.

      *** Cleaning and Storage ***

The Soft Play Zone ABC / 123 Coloured Play Mat comes in a clear plastic sleeve and when taken apart can be stored in there if required, though we left ours out. It does mean they are easily transportable and can be moved between homes or even rooms, and taken outside in good weather.

For cleaning (think dribbles and the occasional bit of food and milk, etc) the pieces can either be wiped or washed in warm water under the tap, which is really convenient.

      *** Any Downsides **

The only tiny downside is that the pieces do smell quite rubbery for a few days after you get the mat but it does soon go, and that the middle pieces of some of the numbers (ie, the hole in the 6, for example), were a little bit too small for my five month old so I kept those pieces out until she was a bit older and a bit less nibbly.

Overall though I am very happy with my purchase of Soft Play Zone ABC / 123 Coloured Play Mat and the positives absolutely outweigh any tiny negatives.

      *** Overall ***

Overall I'll give the Soft Play Zone ABC / 123 Coloured Play Mat a very highly deserved 4 stars out of 5, it's a great play mat which really helped us out when we needed a nice looking, suitable and easy to clean play mat which was both versatile and safe. I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing one.

Nice Play Mat which should gain value with time

We felt that having this in our child's bedroom would work on two counts, it would help them to understand their letters and numbers, provide a colourful floor mat which was soft and would protect them when falling on our wooden floors and also because it was on offer at £19.99 at Argos.

I have to say, we have since had to place a large rug on top of this mat, perhaps it was our own fault as this is either for older children or our little one is a real troublemaker and constantly uses the mat for purposes other than those it was created for.

In essence this is a square floor laminate of coloured soft letters of the alphabet and numbers, all of the squares with these in interlink, so you could use them to create words or numbers, this is wonderful, my only problem with the mat is that you can also take the number or letter out of the square, this has proved fateful with our little one who has lost 3 of the characters, used another to clean the floor, others to chew on and really hasn't used them in the sense we bought them for.

In terms of what it is, this mat is excellent, it provides a real opportunity to teach and also provides a soft bouncy floor for kids in hard floored rooms, we felt this was better in the bedroom than the lounge for obvious reasons but occasionally move it when space dictates.

Overall I would say this is a very good item, when our little one is slightly older we expect to get lots of use out of it, in the interim it provides an under sheet for a rug meaning any falls or tumbles are painless and avoid trips to A&E, this in itself was worth paying for and we now look forward to the days when we can watch our little one create words with this rather than using it for controlled spurts of vandalism!!

The product is colourful and looks nice, it comes in a pack which you can fold the squares into if you need to put it away in a cupboard or under the cot which is handy and convenient.

The mat tiles are easily cleanable with a wipe or cloth and are safe for little one to chew on, but wear and tear is easy and to avoid having a slightly worn and unpalatable mat, it is best to buy this when your child is around 3 years old.

      Disadvantages

A great soft play area for young children

We had a play mat for our son but as on as he began rolling we found he was barely on it and would rather roll around the room so we looked for something that would cover a bigger area. That is when we came across this ABC/ 123 mats set and decided to purchase it. We paid around £20 from Amazon but you can purchase them from a number of places including Argos, Tesco and most large stores.

There are 36 mat pieces in total which include the full alphabet and numbers 0-9 each mat is interlocking meaning they can easily be put together and joined up to make a larger surface area. Each number and letter also pulls out from the mat so they can be used by them self for teaching little with them as a whole block or just with the letter or number itself. They are made of foam and very soft and it is very easy to put them together as a block and to remove the letters although not easy enough so little one can do it straight away although as soon as my children hit about a year old they had already figured out how they come apart and this was a new game for them.

The mat is thick enough I was hoping paying a little extra it may be thicker than alternatives available but this was not the case. Saying that it is not exactly thin and the foam mats are very good at preventing little one from hurting themselves if they fall over as they are made from a foam material they are a lot softer landing than what you would get on wooden flooring or carpets. It also has grip on the mats so new walkers have a little extra grip.

The main reason we brought this was because we have wooden flooring in our house and I was worried about my children's knees as they learnt to crawl and it has been fantastic for this purpose although they do crawl off of the mat at times there is enough to cover a fair amount of floor so most of the room is covered with this mat. Also when we move in to a smaller room the size of the mat can be easily changed to suit where it has been moved too. Now we have moved we do have carpeted rooms downstairs as well as laminate in the dining room and hall way and it is still a lot comfier for little one than lying directly on the carpet.

Since then we have found them to be great from crawling to walking they provide support for little one and then once they are older the numbers and letters can be used to teach them along with the mats being bright in red yellow green and blue so not only do they look attractive but they help teach little one key colours too.

They are great for tummy time the bright colours attract little one and as it I soft to touch it provides a nice surface for them to lay a play with their toys. They can also be used outside as they are fairly easy to transport in the boot of the car we tend to take half the mats and use them as a mat as it provides somewhere easy to sit and it is not too much trouble to put together.

Also you can make them into 3d shapes by interlocking them which is great fun for older children but you do need to remove the centre letters and numbers as they just fall out anyway it can be a fun way to teach little one shapes and as there is plenty of mat space younger siblings ca still lay on part of the mat watching their big brother or sister play.

My only downside would be when you move them to a different area once the letters or numbers have been taken out of the middle of the block before they just fall out meaning each time that you move the mat you need to replace all the pieces that come away and although this is not too much of a problem it can make moving it around a little more time consuming.

They are really durable we brought them for my son when he was a baby and he is now 4 there are a few chips in the foam and there are a few teeth marks etc from teething babies but they are still in one piece an work just as well as they did when we first purchased them.

It is easy to clean as it is waterproof so it just takes a wipe down and it is as good as new this also means if little one spills there juice or gets the mat mucky it is a lot easier to clean than your carpet.I would recommend this mat to anyone it has lots of different ways to play and has been of great use in our house.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        I would recommend!

I bought this playmat for my daughter when she first started crawling. I have a large living room so wanted something which was easy to put down and remove when needed and was easy to clean and fun for her. I thought this looked a great idea so when an bought it! I bought the mat from Amazon for about 20 mat the time.

The Playmat arrived within a few days. It consists of a mat for each letter of the alphabet and the numbers 0-9. Each letter is part of a different jigsaw like piece and and you can put it together how you choose. So aswell as it being a great playmat when she is older she could potentially use is as a large jigsaw. It fits together very easily, I put the letters in alphabetical order as that seemed the most logical but you can put it together how you choose. The pieces of the mat are about 1cm thick and quite squishy, it's a similar material to flip flops. Each mat is 1ft squared so the total mat is 6 ft squared! Which covered all the middle of my living room giving her a safe space to crawl on. The pieces of the mat are all brightly coloured - purple, yellow, red, blue, green and pink and each has a letter or number that is a contrasting colour.

The letters and the numbers pop out from the play-mat pieces which give a great toy for a baby to chew on or a child to play with. We've have used them as toys in the paddling pool in summer and we are currently using some as bath toys. It is educational as it contains letters and numbers, which is a great bonus for any toy.

The mat is very easy to clean. It just wipes down and once in a while I give the pieces a real deep clean. This is good if you intend to use it outside, as you can wipe of any dirt or germs and bring it back inside.

I now have the mat in her bedroom, as there is only so long you can look at the mat in your living room!

The mat is recommended from 3 years + because of some of the pop out pieces but I used it from her being 7 months and just removed the smaller pieces.

Overall this is a good versatile buy which is handy indoors and out.

        Thankyou for reading my review.

I wanted a large play mat for when my daughter was playing out in the back yard as I was worried that she might fall off her rocker or slide and hit the hard stone - the thing I had in mind was one of those large mats you used to have in the gym at school! Searching online I found that they were very expensive so I had to look for an alternative and I came across the Soft Play Zone ABC/123 Coloured Play Mat on Amazon and after speaking to a couple of my friends who recommended it I decided to order it.

Within a couple of days a large parcel arrived at my door and inside was a clear pvc bag which contained the letters and numbers. The bag itself is a zip up which means you can store them back in the bag safely after use and there is a handy carry handle for easy transportation. It is quite a strong bag although it does look slightly flimsy in a way, but it can withstand manhandling from a boisterous toddler!!

The Soft Zone playmat is a giant playmat that doubles up as a large jigsaw puzzle, it consists of 36 pieces of "jigsaw" which are lettered from A - Z and numbered from 0 - 9. The size of each piece is 1ft squared so when the whole mat is together it measures a huge 6ft x 6ft square! The mat is made out of a soft foam - the same material that flip flops are made out of so you get the idea of the feel of the mat - and each piece is 13mm thick so it is relatively cushioned for comfort. The pieces of the mat are all brightly coloured - purple, yellow, red, blue, green and pink and each has a letter or number that is a contrasting colour.

The playmat is extremely easy to clean, it simply wipes down with a damp cloth and of course if you wish to give it a more thorough clean you can do so with warm water and a cloth. I found this a good point of the mat as we have used it outside several times in the yard so I give it a wipe down before putting back into the storage bag.

Initially I purchased this playmat as a safety mat for playing outside and placed it at the end of my daughters slide so she had a soft landing but since the weather turned I now have it in my kitchen (which is actually more like a playroom in fact!!) as it is laminated floor and was quite cold for my daughter to play on so this has helped prevent her playing on the cold floor.

A great feature of the play mat is that the letters and numbers actually pop out of the squares so there is a different play option that is also learning when the child has to put them back in the right places. That is one thing my daughter really enjoys doing and as she knows her alphabet too she does like to put them in the right order also. I can't say that this has helped her learn her letters and numbers as she already knew them, but it has helped her match a letter with a shape which is an alternative to a simple shape sorting exercise.

The recommended age for the playmat is age 3 years+ and this is due to the small puzzle pieces, mainly the holes in number 8 but as long as the child is supervised when playing I don't see there being an issue in a younger child playing on the mat.

We have had the playmat for some time now and as yet it is still in fantastic condition but we now have a kitten who has decided that she likes to play on it too so I expect a bit of damage on the way! My daughter really likes the mat and plays on it for quite a while happily, and often will dive all over it as if she is in a wrestling match!!

The RRP for the playmat is around £27.00 but I have seen it on offer at Tesco or Ebay so I would say it would be a good idea to shop around.

I give the play mat five out of five Dooyoo stars!

Thank you for reading my review :)

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Provides more fun than just a simple play mat

We bought one of the Soft Play Zone Play Mats from a car boot sale for £4. At the time we had thought about getting a set of these number and alphabet floor tiles new so this seemed like a better idea. At just under £30 new for the full set of tiles they are a bit pricey, so we decided that even though the boot sale tiles needed a clean and were a little scuffed on some of the tiles, they would be coming home with us.

Our set of Soft Play Tiles were in a good all round condition but just needed a clean and quick spruce up. We were able to clean the tiles individually, which was easy to do. The Soft Play Zone Play Mat Tiles are made from the same type of material that summer beachwear flip flops are made from, so we were able to wash them in a mix of soapy water with a little added disinfectant.

        **********************************************************
Once the Soft Play Zone Play Mat Tiles were nice and clean they were ready to use. Once thing thats great about them is that they can be used inside or outside the home. We have often used these in the garden as they make a really nice soft play surface that can be placed on top of grass, or hard surfaces like decking or block paving.

To interlink the Soft Play Zone Play Mat Tiles you need to think of them as being similar to a jigsaw puzzle only on a much larger scale and with square shaped teeth type fittings to link each tile together. I have to say that for a toddler or slightly older child the set still makes a nice soft play surface, but older children can easily learn to take the mat apart in the course of exploring it a little more. This isn't a problem though just more chance for a slightly different construction activity with the tiles.

        **********************************************************
Things our child liked about the Soft Play Zone Play Mat were that it could be used only as a play mat to play with other toys on, or it could be used by us to make simple words which our child could get to grips with and then try to spell out themselves. The number tiles can also be put together into a small hopscotch type game so that an older child can play along.

The tiles can be used for counting as they have numbers from 0 to 9 and the alphabet is included in full making spelling simple words like cat, dog, me, you, car, boat, train, frog, etc possible. This feature makes this a great dual purpose learning toy and play mat all in one. The surface of the tiles is soft and has a slight bounce to it. The thickness seems to be almost 1.5 cms, which makes for a decent soft play surface.

        *********************************************************
The Soft Play Zone Play Mat Tiles can be made into one fully interlocked full sized play mat as wanted. This works out as a large area for a child to play on that is 6ft wide by 6ft across, if made up as a mat 6 tiles wide and 6 tiles across. This gives a really good play surface that is wide enough to fit lots of toys and your child on with no problems.

To give the Soft Play Zone Play Mat a rating I feel it ought to get 4 stars, having deducted 1 star only, as I feel at full price it is expensive. If you buy the set do expect that the foamy tiles will end up with a few knocks and bumps here and there. The mat is something that can be used outside to great effect and you don't even need to worry about it too much if its caught in a summer shower, as you can always give it a quick wipe over to make it ready for its next use once the sun is out again.

This is a great product which has been great in teaching my daughter her ABC and numbers. It also doubles up as alot of fun too!

The mat came packaged in a nice little PVC bag which was easy to carry as well as to store all the pieces in after play. It has a little zip and a carry handle. The bag was somewhat similar to the one the playballs for the ball pit came in.

The Soft Play Zone ABC/123 Coloured Play Mat is a giant playmat which is also like a jigsaw puzzle. There are 36 pieces of the jigsaw mat to put together and when the mat is all nicely together it measure a whopping 6x6 foot in a square shape. The mat is very soft to sit on and is made of a foam type of material. Each square is brightly coloured - there are yellow, blue, red, purple, pink and green squares each one with a number or letter written on it in a contrasting colour. Each of the letters and numbers are written in a bold font and very easy to see.

The mat is great for teaching children colours, numbers and their ABCs as well as using the letters to make up basic words for your child to learn and spell. There is another game option with the letters and numbers as they actually pop out of the indivdual squares so what I have done with my daughter is pop them all out and tried to get her to recognise the silhouettes and match them all up. It really helped her to learn her numbers and her ABC this was and it allowed her to know what each one looks like. Each square connects together like an actual jigsaw piece, so you can connect all the numbers together and all the letters and connect letters properly to make words and so on.

The mat is very easy to clean, just a case of using a cloth and some water to give it a wash over. It can also be used inside and outside which was really nice in the summer as we could take it out and put it on the grass and do a nice little bit of learning together in the sunshine.

It is also nice for my daughter to use on our laminate flooring in the dining room as that floor is always so cold but the mat seems to trap the coldness underneath it and my daughter doesn't end up with a cold bum.

The mat is nice and lightweight and as it comes apart it is easy for children to move about.

My daughter has had this item for about a year and it has picked up a few digs and bits out of the foam but it has been played with and on regularly and on a few occassions the cats have been made to sit on it too! So it hasn't done too bad in my opinion.

Highly recommended. I got my daughter's one new from eBay for £12.00 so I recommend looking about for it.

        EXCELLENT

I bought this for my daughter when she was small and just about getting to grips with walking. Due to the fact that I had laminate flooring I wanted something that would cushion her, should she take a tumble.

I was drawn to this soft play zone puzzle, as I loved it's bright colourful appearance. It was also very spongy to touch and made me feel assured that it would help soften any falls my daughter may have. I was impressed with the large floor area that this puzzle covered.

Initially, my daughter would just run around on this floor mat. However I did notice that she appeared to be much more confident and compitent in her walking ability when put on this mat. She seemed to love the feel of the soft surface under her feet.

I also found that she would spend alot of time on this mat studying the different colours and shapes of the letters and numbers. As she got older, we had so many games using this mat. I believe that by utilizing this mat, I was able to really assist my daughter in her number and letter recognition from an early age.

One game we would play is that I would shout out a letter or number and she would have to try and jump from the spot she was on onto the correct square. My daughter nearly always got it wrong at first but it was fun and it allowed her to become more confident with letters and numbers.

As my daughter became older we put this mat at the bottom area of the garden. I noticed that her little friends would all be attracted to this mat when they came to play. This mat also gave them a good sturdy surface to play on. Which made me feel much more at ease. I really loved this mat at the bottom of my garden as it looked so attractive, bright and fun.

I think i payed around £30 for this mat, which I do think is quite expensive. However, I do feel that it is money well spent. This play mat has been given to my friend and is still like new. I do believe that this mat is well worth it's cost as it is a high quality item which allows your child to develop a sound knowledge of numbers and letters whilst playing. I also feel that it's strong and sturdy nature allowed me peace of mind regarding protection of my daughter. Which to me was priceless.

Overall 4 out of 5 dooyoo stars

I bought this play mat for my daughter when she first started crawling and pulling herself up on the furniture. We have wood flooring all throughout our house so I didn't like the thought of her sitting and crawling on a cold hard floor and was also worried about her falling and bumping her head when she was walking round the furniture. I searched for a solution to our problem and could only think of buying a huge rug for the lounge, which would have been pretty pricey, but then I came across the soft play zone play mat. I actually purchased our play mat off a toy supplier on ebay and got it for £19.99 which, in my opinion, is a pretty good price for the size of the mat.

The playmat is basically a giant foam jigsaw type playmat. It consists of 36 square mats that each measure 1 square foot. Each mat has a letter of the alphabet and numbers 0 to 9 which are made in a different colour foam and can be lifted out of the play mat. The mats slot very easily together and provide 36 square feet coverage which you can slot together in any shape you wish. We already have a rug in our lounge so I used to slot the pieces together around the rug and all of our furniture and it virtually covered our entire lounge ensuring that my daughter was safe from an bumps on our hard floor. The mats are made of approx 1cm thick foam so provide very cushioned flooring - my little one even fell off the sofa once and it didn't bother her at all! I used this playmat everyday until my daughter started walking and became more steady on her feet and it provided peace of mind for me and a comfortable and colourful place to play for my little girl.

When she turned 1, we had a party in our local church hall and also took the play mat along with us for all the children to play on and to create a sort of dance floor in the middle of the room - all the kiddies loved it and again stopped them from hurting themselves on the hard floor. The mats are supplied in a handy zip up bag for storage - unfortunately the zip broke within a couple of weeks on ours so we ended up just storing them in a collapsible crate which we found was the perfect size to store all of the mats.

This play mat was absolutely brilliiant when my little one was tiny but to be honest, it has been put up in the loft now as it started to get a bit annoying when she got a little older. The mat never stayed in one piece when she worked out that all of the numbers and letters came out of the mat so I constantly found myself having to put it back together for her and she got stressed when she couldn't do it herself. We are, however, having a party for her 2nd birthday in a couple of weeks and I'm planning on getting it out of the loft again for the kiddies to play on.

Overall a great little mat to protect from bumps but annoying as my little one got older.

        an excellent buy.

We have this playmat at the mother toddler group that I go to. It is a great thing to have especially with young children around.

It is like a giant jigsaw. 36 pieces of foam pieces which can interlock together and create a huge 6x6 foot square. Each piece is brightly coloured and attractive to the little kids. It seems to call them over! Each individual square has either a letter or a number on it and is about an inch thick. Every piece fits in the rest so it is handy for writing words, learning your numbers or practicing your alphabet. It is also good for recognising colours.

The play mat is made from EVA and is soft and lightweight. It is easy to wipe clean and can be used for indoor and outdoor use. EVA is the same material they make flip flops out of so it is pretty durable! It can also be made to whatever size you want it depending on how much space you have.

Due to the thickness of the playmat it is great for cushioning falls and preventing nasty scrapes from trips and bumps. I have yet to witness a child who has hurt themselves by falling on this. Another bonus with this is that it helps prevent draughts from the floor. The mother toddler group we attend is held in an old church with cold wooden floors yet the cold doesn't seep through the mat so the kids aren't sitting on a cold floor.

The play mat is for children 3 years and older. The letters can be popped out from the mat thereforemaking small pieces which could be dangerous to little ones. We just remove all the small pieces before the session starts and then everyone can use it.

Another advantage of having the letters pop out is that you can create a game where you have to match the shilhouettes and replace them all.

The play mat comes in a see through PVC bag with a zip and a carry handle. It packs away easily and fits into the bag with no problems.

The play mat at the toddler group is a little bit battered and there are picks in most of the squares but none of them have broken. This isn't bad for 2 years of tough playing on! I would recommend this type of play mat for anyone, I bought a similar one myself although it was smaller.

        I'd give it 5 out of 5.

A Play Mat Where You Decide How Big It's Going To Be!

These play mats are brill, we got ours when my sister was just learning to crawl because at the time we had laminate flooring and it was too hard on her knees. My mum started stressing about her falling over on the hard floor and hurting herself, I can't remember exactly WHY we ended up with these mats but I'm glad we did..... we've used them for AGES and recently I took them into the playgroup I help out at because they weren't being used any more at our house and the kids at playgroup LOVE them.

The mats are a bit like a jigsaw, you get 36 squares and when you buy them they will be in 2 tall piles ready for you to start putting them together. Just because there are 36 mats there it doesn't mean you've got to use them all and you can make your play mat as big or small as you like, you need a pretty big room anyway to get them all put together and the only time we ever did that at home was when my sister was playing with them in the garden. At playgroup they quite often have them all out and put together because they have got the room to do it.

The mats are all bright and colourful and are printed with all the letters of the alphabet and then numbers 1 - 0. It's a shame the letters are printed in capitals though because if they was in little letters I think the mats would be brill for helping little kids to learn their alphabet, it's still a good thing anyway and because of the individual mats being interlocking you can even make words with the letters.

Just because the 36 squares fit together nice into a big play mat like you can see in the photo Dooyoo have got up, that's not the only way to arrange them. You can put them together any way you like, me and my sister make words with them but it's a bit annoying that the letters are only repeated once because it kind of puts a limit on the amount of words you can make. My sister has got 2 L's in her name and she gets annoyed because she loves seeing her name spelled out and doesn't like me having to use the 1 as the second L!

Like I said, you haven't got to use them all everytime you get the mats out. I used to sometimes put 12 together in a block just for somewhere for my sister to sit and play and I think by now we've used all the different combinations of mats! They are made of a nice foam material that is kind of like the stuff you find in kids soft play areas, there's NO WAY a kid could hurt themselves on these mats and they're not even thick enough for a child to roll off and bang themselves on the floor!

They're easy to clean with a wet cloth and quite a lot my sister would sit and eat her dinner over these mats because all we had to do when she was finished was wipe the mess up and they're all clean again! I remember one time she was sick on the mats and it was mega easy to clean because I just got the hose on it! Spotless again and they didn't even soak up the DISGUSTING smell of milky baby sick!

Recommended..... £27.78 in Amazon and that might sound expensive for mats but they were dearer when we brought ours and they're sooooooo versatile that they're worth every penny!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Very well spent money!

I have an almost 9 months old daughter. A few moths ago she started crawling. We used to keep her on our bed but it was too dangerous because she is soooooo active! I was thinking what to do - what to put on the floor where she could safely roll over and crawl. My friend has a few months older daughter so advised me to buy a soft play mat puzzle. I wasn't sure what to expect but based on her recommendation started searching for more information online and from amazon.co.uk bought Alphabet Numbers Coloured Soft Play Mat for about £25 with delivery.

          PRODUCT

Alphabet Numbers Coloured Soft Play Mat consists of 36 reversible foam tiles with pop out letters and numbers (26 letters (A-Z) and 10 numbers (0-9)). They are very colourful, bright and are perfect for inside use just as for outside as well. Babies and children can safely play on a flat surface and avoid bumps knocks and grazes. These tiles are interlocking so it's very easy and quick to lay and take them up. The grip surface protects children, especially little ones from slipping. Tiles are also waterproof so it's very easy to clean spilled food, drinks....

          MY EXPERIENCE

I know that Alphabet Numbers Coloured Soft Play Mat is recommended for 3 years old and older children but we think it may be used to smaller kids as well:
          - we always keep an eye on our daughter (to avoid even a chance of her choking with ripped parts),
          - for a small baby it's easier to learn crawling on a hard surface than on a bed,
          - babies are attracted by bright colours and enjoy tummy time,
          - these mats help soften the fall,
          - baby is on a clean surface.
          - tiles are easy to wipe clean.

So the same day as we received a huge packet by post, I interlocked the mat in our sitting room. First I thought it's huge and I have put just a bit more than half puzzle (of course our daughter was smaller and not so active then). Now we think it would be great to have more of those tiles and to cover all the room for her! Because it takes just a few seconds for her to appear on wooden floor.... And the idea was to keep her on a clean and soft surface!

I can assure You that Alphabet Numbers Coloured Soft Play Mat really helped my daughter to learn crawling! She's been trying to crawl on a bed but her legs used to slip.... Very often she ended up crying because she couldn't do it. Now she can lean on a grip surface (what she's been trying to do on a bed). Bed was too soft and now on this mat she is doing great!!!

One more reason why we decided to buy a Soft Play Mat is safety. Now we can leave our daughter for a few seconds on it and not to worry that she can fall. It's much safer now. Because used to keep her on our bed and if I needed to get her food ready, I used to run to put a kettle on and run back; or had to put her into a cot. But it was a tragedy if she was in a middle of playing... Now she can continue playing and I feel better!

A few weeks ago weather was very warm so with friends we went into a park to spend a day outside. Of course we took a few tiles with us. We put a warm cover on the grass (as ground is still cold) and laid a few tiles on it. So our daughter happily played lying on the mat because she can't spend much time in a pram or in arms!

As my baby girl is still small sometimes she spits out some milk or other food (especially when she rolls on her tummy after a feed). I used to wash all the covers so often... Now the mat is so easily wiped clean! It is very important for hygiene reasons - I use an antibacterial spray. Besides a lot of energy and my time is saved (changing, washing, ironing covers, pillowcases, sheets....).

The Alphabet Numbers Coloured Soft Play Mat can be used not just as a mat. These foam tiles are easy to interlock and can be made into three dimensional objects and shapes. So it's a great toy for older children which can improve learning through play!

My girl enjoys the mat so much! It's so colourful that attracts her attention every time she's on it. She already tries to pop out letters and numbers, manages to take up some edge tiles and of course - bites them! Well, she's a baby and puts everything in her mouth. It's our job to watch and protect her. She spends so much time on this mat rolling around with her toys, crawling. It really keeps her busy for a long time!

The only problem with this mat - how to cross a room... As we keep it laid in our sitting room during all day - it's a problem when you want to get to a window on turn a tv on. Because we don't want to step on the mat, so we often have to take of one row of tiles... If you are going to use this mat in very big or separate room - it won't be a problem for You!

          OVERALL

We really love this mat! It's such a colourful, educational and good quality product. We paid £25 for it and it's a great price cause our daughter is going to play a long time on it. Very well spent money!

I definitely recommend this Alphabet Numbers Coloured Soft Play Mat. It is a great product, suitable for children of different ages.

          Thanks for reading!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Cant fault them

I got these for many reasons, I wanted something soft for my son to be on in the house, once he was moving around the soft play gym was useless for that! I use 8 of them for that which has been handy until he gets around so much its pointless having anything, having said that they are really handy to have, its still set up as a toy area and the dog knows not to go anywhere near them for that reason.
when the summer months come in I plan on using them in the garden too, they are hard wearing enough to lay on the grass for my little one to sit on out there.
I love the fact they are wipe clean, no worries if your little one is sicky they can easily be cleaned with anything.

another good use is under the highchair to catch any mess if you have carpet.

my little one is too small to appreciate the letters and numbers just yet but I think it will make for a good game when he is slightly older.
