Advantages: Cheap, comfortable, safe
Disadvantages: not much suspension
My parents brought this for my daughter for christmas. I was really excited because I had one of these when I was younger and even more excited because it was tigger - my all time favorite Disney character.
I got it out of the box straight away and got my dad to hang it on the door so my daughter could have a go.
At 5 months old she wasn't that interested and didnt really know what she was supposed to be doing but she soon got the hang of it and was soon jumping up and down!!
I was quite concerened about her little feet as I wasnt really sure how high or low she was supposed to be hanging and how flat on the floor her feet should be as there was no guide but she seemed comfortable so I let her get on with it.
After watching my dad hang it up and I knew how to do it I found it really easy to get on and off the door and it seemed really sterdy and safe. I had no fear of her falling out or it coming unattached as it simply was not possible. I did fear that she would get a little too over excited and bang into the door frame but it seemed her little legs wernt strong enough to swing that hard anyway.
Although I was really pleased with the product I found it really hard to get her in and out of it and sometimes she got caught and it even became dangerous. As I lifted her up I would bang her head on the plastic bit that was holding it all together and I couldnt seem to get her feet out of the holes and we had all sorts of trouble. It was really hard and I soon stopped putting her in it if I didnt have an extra pair of hands to help me get her out of it!
The swing is really steardy and as I said before I cannot tell you how safe I felt when she was in there. It is very soft around the legs and baby always seemed really comfortable in it.
The bouncer can be brought in various places and many popular high street stores such as Tesco. It is around £20 but can be picked up cheaper.
The weight limit is 25lb but I would suggest 20lb max as my daughter is not 22lb and she is far too big for it. She could easily topple out of it now as the belt does not come up high enough and there is no way to harness the baby in completely. The straps can obviously be adjusted according to babies height meaning she can bounce as high as she likes. The suspension is not too much though so it wont become dangerous as baby gets more mobile.
The baby gets really tired using this bouncer which is an added bonus as when she comes out she wants to sleep. It has certainly made her little legs stronger and she gets very excited when she sees tigger coming out - or at least she did until she got too big for him :( recommended!!
Summary: highly recommended!!
