Vtech First Steps Baby Walker
Jack is going to be a genius and I think it’s all thanks to me buying up toys that are too advanced for him from an early stage. He is now three months old but I bought this vetch baby walker when he was only a matter of weeks. I am a big kid at heart and I couldn’t wait to get most of theses toys for myself never mind jack!
I bought this baby walker from Amazon with the use of some more vouchers I had accumulated and it only cost £19.95 pence and that price included post and packaging. It arrived in just over a week and I couldn’t wait to start playing and see what Jack thought.
Now it is meant for ages from 6 months and as Jack was only a few weeks old he pretty much screamed the house down when I put it in front of him and he saw all the flashing lights and lots of sounds. How ever my boyfriend could hardly tear me away from it. Now Jack is a few months older he does seem far more interested in it. The good thing about the walker is the fact that it is not just a walker as the front panel can be detached to have just a walker on its own and just a panel of buttons. This is what Jack is most interested in and I don’t think I will attach it to the walker until he is the recommended 6 months or just before.
The front panel really does have so much to offer children, as there is so much to look at, listen to touch and explore. The on/off button is found at the top on the front and this gives the option to have the noises played quietly or a bit louder for older children. As soon as the unit is switched on a fun rhyme is played… “Hello puppy calling do you want to play with me lets have fun together while we learn our ABC…”. There is a raised puppy button in the top left corner and this option when pushed plays a Simon says type game but of course instead of Simon it is Puppy says.
There is a green plastic phone that can be taken off of the unit and contains plastic balls that make the phone turn into a rattle and when the phone is put back into place the unit says “well done”. There are three raised circles that are linked together and when you spin the unit say “Twisting and Turning around and around” and makes a funny noise. The fact that there circles have a circular pattern on as well makes you feel quite dizzy when you are spinning it and look at it.
Under this section there are number on shapes from 1 to 4 and these are written on a red heart shape, a yellow circle shape, a blue square shape and a green triangle shape. These buttons when pushed once will say the number that is on the front when pushed a second time it will say the colour and shape of the button.
There is a small set of five piano keys along the bottom of the unit and these have printed on them the first part of the alphabet from a to e. as well as these letters there are pictures of related things on the a key the is a picture of an apple, the b key has a picture of a ball, the c key has a picture of a cat, the d key has a picture of a dog and the e key has a picture of an elephant. These keys when pressed will say these letters phonetically and when pressed the second time will say the name of the picture also on the key.
There is a butterfly that opens and closes one wing and when this is done the piano will change from the alphabet option to a normal piano mode where when the keys are pressed they light up and make a single note or when the number buttons are pressed the piano will play a tune all on its own or as I said the alphabet is said.
As well as having this separate unit of course there is the walker itself. This part clips easily together with the separate unit and together is a great toy. As yet Jack of course has not used the walker but my friends 10 month old is using this particular toy and the walker part works really well. No wonder that this toy has won a number of great awards.
I would recommend this toy/walker to any parents because there is just so much on offer from one single toy! The price is certainly reasonable and the whole product is full of entertainment and learning all in one! I love it and Jack (who is now pressing the piano keys! Genius!) is loving it too! A Brilliant purchase!!
Summary: a brilliant price for a brilliant product
