Advantages: Value for money, more than 'just a walker'

Disadvantages: Very slippery and lightweight on laminate flooring

The VTech walker is one of the most popular walkers on the market and you can see why.

At about £24.99 it represents good value for money with lots of features and, most importantly, it is a 'safe' walker - preferred by health professionals over the 'sit in' types of walker.

Our son enjoyed this walker from ten months. He has had lots of enjoyment from the front panel (both attached and unattached). At thirteen months he is only just beginning to use it as a walker though.

The activity panel has two volume settings and many, interesting buttons, keys and dials for little fingers to investigate. The audio includes songs, letters, numbers and animal sounds.

While I can see this being well used for many months to come I do have some personal reservations:

1) Some of the tunes and phrases get very annoying (but don't most baby toys?)!
2) It just doesn't work as well as a walker on our laminate flooring (and with our son!) as I expected. I would have preferred the wheels to have some grip (as some of the wooden walkers do) and the walker also seems almost too lightweight at times.

In saying that:
1)It is probably worth buying just for the activity panel for 6-12 month olds
2) It is very stable sideways.

Summary: A good walker but not perfect
