Sainsburys Nappies
by RachelHRD
Both of my children have bowel conditions which means that they are delayed with regard to potty training so having two older children still in nappies and pull ups, it is really important for me to find a product which works well keeping them dry and leak free and is good value for money as we go through so many of them and are on a ... tight budget.
I have found the Sainsbury's Little Ones nappies and pull ups to be superior to and cheaper than the likes of Pampers in their ability to keep my children dry and minimise leaks. I tend to use the pull ups during the day as they are easier to change, and then the Dry nappies overnight as they are better at containing large amount of wee.
We use the size 6 Dry nappies (Extra large 16kg+) and they fit well - they have elasticated leg cuffs and the velcro style waist fasteners are stretchy giving a good snug fit. They have a clock design on them which both my children love and they are nice and lightweight and seem as comfortable as a nappy can be. They come in two pack sizes for the size 6 - 25 per pack currently retailing at £4 and 38 per pack for £5.97 and they are generally on offer most of the time so you can get 2x38 for £10 or 2x25 for £6.
I also like the fact that they don't have that nasty chemical smell that some nappies have and that we haven't had any problems with the nappy splitting and the gel coming into contact with the skin - both of which I have had with Pampers nappies.
I would recommend these nappies to any parent looking for an affordable, reliable nappy for their little ones. Read the complete review |

Tesco Value Baby Wipes
by myloh
I'm reviewing Tesco everyday baby wipes.
The pack I have contains 100 & cost me a HUGE 60p .
*****WHY I BOUGHT THEM*****
I was recently shanghaied for child minding duty & had forgotten just how messy kids can be.
My box of tissues was rapidly depleting,& anyway, dry tissues can't cope with ... everything. After wearing a track in the floor out to the bathroom to wash little faces & hands for the 129th time I resorted to using my own make-up removal wipes . But I resolved to buy some cheaper ones and while shopping in Tesco I spotted these. 100 for 60 was right up my financial street, so in the trolley they went.
*****THE WIPES*****
Definitely not as thick as the ones I'd been using on them ,but perfectly seviceable for the jobs in hand. Sticky hands & messy mouths shouldn't need trotting off to the bathroom every single time and tissues,no matter the quality, just can't handle everything toddlers throw at them during their busy play-times
Nor are they as moist as my usual ones, but they are moist enough to do the trick 90% of the time.
They are not fragranced which I thought was a bonus .....but I was wrong. One child (a boy obviously) cared not a jot about fragrance either way,but little miss Holly decreed them not as "nicely smelly" as she'd like and pulled a face. What to do. Well ,I popped in the bathroom with the wipes that night & dripped a couple of drops of lavender oil into the pack and by the time they were needed next day they had a nice fragrance.
Naturally you must NEVER try to flush them away in the loo. Bin only.
At 60p for 100 you can't pass up something like this really, and while I might be wary of using them on delicate new baby skins, I think that for all else they are just fine & have saved my sanity & my furniture & fittings .
***BONUS***
No more needing to thoroughly wash my wash cloth every evening, since most of the toddler mess is now binned with the baby wipes.
Also,as well as on kids, they can be used to wipe furniture, doors & toys of sticky finger marks.
Would I recommend ? Yes,but possibly not for shiny brand new babies. Read the complete review |

Dentinox Cradlecap Shampoo
by MollyWH
Our daughter Molly suffered with cradle cap when she was around four months old. At the time, I had never even heard of cradle cap, let alone how to treat it so my parents kindly went out and bought us a bottle of Dentinox Cradle Cap treatment shampoo.
What is Cradle Cap?
Cradle cap (seborrhoeic dermatitis) is ... actually quite common in babies and it looks similar to dandruff, the only difference being that it is a lot more noticeable than dandruff and appears in scaly patches across the scalp that become dry and flaky. It is believed that cradle cap is caused by a build up of dead skin, where the skin builds up rather than falling off.
Treatment
As I mentioned before, I had never even heard of cradle cap before having a baby so I wasn't particularly aware of the various treatments on the market. Dentinox cradle cap shampoo costs roughly £2 for a 125ml bottle. In order to treat your baby, you are required to use a half a teaspoon of the shampoo at every application, so as you can imagine, a 125ml bottle goes a long way!
Packaging
Dentinox cradle cap shampoo comes in a white bottle with green writing on it. To be honest, the bottle is rather plain and boring and certainly does not stand out on the supermarket shelves.
Using Dentinox
This shampoo is used in much the same manner as all other shampoos. Wet your baby's head with warm water, apply a teaspoon of shampoo and massage into baby's head and rinse the shampoo off. They recommend that you make two applications for best results. The shampoo is quite runny and is clear in colour. You need to be careful when getting the shampoo out of the bottle as with it being runny, it does come our quite quickly and you also need to rub it into baby's head quite quickly too to prevent it sliding down their face. Dentinox actually smells quite pleasant considering the bottle looks so plain. It contains rosewater and definitely leaves your baby's hair smelling very faintly of roses; it's a lovely baby smell. Dentinox is suitable for newborn babies which is great as it means you can start treatment as soon as you see cradle cap developing.
Summary
In summary I would certainly recommend Dentinox shampoo. Luckily we spotted the cradle cap appearing on Molly from very early on and we managed to treat it quickly so I definitely think that we got positive results from the product. After a couple of weeks we actually stopped using it and now we just use it whenever her head looks like it is starting to get flaky and dry again. Read the complete review |
