Pottete Fold-away Travel Potty
by martinelucy1981 We recently bought one of the pottettes for my daughter when she started learning how to use her potty. We got ours from Mothercare for £12.99 and they also had an offer on at the time so we got a pack of the potty liners for half price too. We decided to buy the potty in pink as we have a little girl who loves everything pink but I ... think it is also available in blue and green too. The pottette can be used in two ways, firstly as a travel potty, and second as a toilet training seat when your little one is brave enough to try the big toilet. We started using the pottette as a travel potty and found it very easy to use. It has two legs which unfold and then need to be clicked into place. You then need to place one of the special liners over the seat and hook the handles over both of the legs, making sure that the absorbent pad is facing upwards. At first my daughter was a little skeptical about using the potty as she was rather attached to her regular potty at home, so we decided to make up a game and see if she could try and get the froggies wet (pictures on the absorbent pad). After a couple of attempts my daughter was completely happy with using the potty while we were out and about. It is possible to put the potty liners on in advance and the potty can be folded up whilst the liners are in place. You can also place 3 liners on the potty together at one time so that it is ready to go whenever your little one needs it. I would definitely recommend doing this as I forgot to once and my little girl wet her knickers whilst I was trying to get the liner on the potty as it can be time consuming when your child is desperate for the toilet! Eventually my daughter decided that she liked using the big girl toilet so we started using the pottette as a trainer seat. This works by just unfolding the legs so they are horizontal with the potty seat and just placing it on top of the toilet. The legs have non slip rubber underneath them so that it doesn't move about on the toilet and they also make perfect little handles for your little one to hold on to so that they don't have to touch dirty public toilet seats. I definitely prefer to use the pottette in this way as it saves fiddling about with carrying extra liners and fitting them to the potty. The only down side of the pottette is that I find the potty liners to be rather expensive - £3.99 for a pack of 10 or £10.99 for a pack of 30! As you can imagine this can become rather costly when your child is going through a stage of wanting to go to the toilet every 10 minutes while out and about! Luckily though, my daughter went on to using it as a toilet seat rather quickly so I was glad to be able to stop buying the liners! The pottette comes with a little travel bag, but I did find this a little disappointing as it is just like a thick carrier bag with a drawstring so we have started taking it out and about in one of our own bags. Overall though, I would say that this is an excellent piece of toilet training equipment for people who are out and about a lot and I don't know what we would do without ours. Certainly beats carrying a fulll size potty everywhere with us! Read the complete review |

Pottete Fold-away Travel Potty
by hunny999 This was reccommended to me by my friend as she had recently potty trained her son and said it was a must have so as i was training my son i decided that i would go and purchase one.I have only actually seen them in two retailers (mothercare & boots) they were about the same price wise so i decided to go to boots for the added ... benefits of boots points. The price for it is £12.99 which initially sounded like alot but for all the use it has had/still having i am really pleased with it.The potette comes with some disposable liners,a bag to carry it in and the actual seat. The seat can be used as either a travel potty or a very handy seat for when your child is ready to go on the toilet but still too small to use the proper toilet seat. To use the potette in the potty function you simply put on one of the disposable liners and fold the blue legs down and it stands like a normal potty. Then once the business is done you simply take off the bag and dispose of.The legs then fold down and the potette is flat and can be placed back in the bag.Great for when you are on the go as it is soo quick & convenient and to top it all alot more hygenic than most public toilets out there !! Having had this now i dont know how i would have got along without it now as when you are out and about with a youngster that needs to go there is nothing worst than not knowing or being able to get to a toliet for them and them then having an accident. With this you will never have that problem. The only down side i can think of is the bags that you use on the potty can be quite dear for replacements but we found a way round it, it might not be glamourus but we simply use a carrier bag and place some toliet roll inside it performing the same function just alot cheaper.... Pottete Fold-away Travel Potty
by ikklejojo I bought one of these about six months ago when I was starting to potty train my little girl, and it is so handy! Retailing at approximately £13.00 for the potty, and £10.00 for the extra packet of bags this is an absolute must for parents. It is incredibly useful for when you are out and about and your kids turns to you and ... say they need a wee. Obviously, it seems that they always pick a time in a park with no toilets or when you have just got on the motorway. This travel potty is a saviour for these awkward moments. The potty come in an easy carry plastic bag, which is also large enough to get your spare bags in and a packet of wipes. It collapses when not in use, and to build it you just flip out the legs and push them to the "click" position to make it stable. You then wrap the handles of the bag around the legs and sit yout little lady/gent on it. There is an absorbent pad inside so that wee does not swish about when you remove the bag. And voila, just take out the bag and throw it in the bin! A legendary design that all potty training mums should have under their buggy or in their car! Read the complete review |
