Sanex Shower Gel for Kids
by taramorg23 My daughter loves her bath especially the bubbles. We normally use Matey but on a recent trip to Tesco they didn't have our ususal choice. I had a quick browse of the shelves and saw this was half price at £1.64. I am familiar with Sanex but I have to be honest I have never tried it. This product is described on the ... bottle as a bodywash and foam bath. The bottle contains 500ml and is rather plain looking. It has a groove in the right hand side so it fits easily into your hand preventing it from slipping when you have wet hands. The bottle has coloured lettering spelling the word kids and a picture of a blue bubble. The product is described as being hypoallergenic, pH balanced and paediatrician approved. Sanex has the motto keeps skin healthy and the back of the bottle shows that it has dermo 3 active nath and shower complex which they say will protect by improving the skin's natural protective barrier, moisturise for soft skin and finally rebalance by restoring the natural pH of the skin. The bottle also describes the wash as being gently cleansing without drying your child's delicate skin whilst it develops its own defences. When I first used this I expected it to be scent free. It does however have a lovely fruity smell. The liquid is thick and creamy and to use as a foam bath you only need a small squirt under running warm water. My daughter loves her bathtime and especially lots of bubbles which she plays with. In the past other bath foams have not made many bubbles and have not lasted very long. I am pleased to say this product lasts the full duration of bath time which is about 15-20 minutes. I normally have to rinse bubbles out after the bath is empty. In terms of using this as a body wash I use a sponge to which I apply a small amount of wash. This normally produces enough lather for me to wash my daughter. After using this my daughter skin is soft and smooth. She does sometimes get dry patches which can be made wprse by certain products this doesn't seem to dry her skin at all. We have been using this daily for a few weeks now and I am very pleased woth the product even at full price I would buy this again. It saves having to buy two products and makes lots of lovely bubbles. Read the complete review |

Sanex Dermo Kids Bodywash and Foam Bath
by theshoes I know this product is designed for kids but as an eczema sufferer I find it hard to get a product which smells nice but is kind to skin and Sanex Dermo Kids Bodywash and Foam Bath manages to do this. I first came across it when looking after our twin baby nephews who also suffer from eczema and dry skin and it really helps keep their ... skin soft and moisturised and does not irritate broken skin. The product comes in a 500ml bottle and retails in our local supermarket for around £3.15 although it is on offer fairly regularly. The bottle states that the product is hypoallergenic, paediatrician approved and pH balanced which is reassuring for parents of children with skin conditions. The body wash itself is a plain white colour and has a light fresh fragrance nothing too perfumey or overpowering. From using just a little on a sponge as a body wash you get a good lather and a little goes a long way and for getting some bubbles in the bath for the boys we didn't need to use much. Myself and my husband have now been using it regularly for a couple of months and I find that it does not over dry the skin unlike some highly perfumed and coloured body washes for adults that are marketed as skin friendly. I know there is an adults version of Sanex and I have also tried this but I just much prefer the fragrance of the kids stuff (it smells so clean and fresh) and its handy to have in for the nephews too! I guess the only drawback is that at over £3 a bottle it is a bit more pricey than your average body wash but if you shop around its always on offer somewhere and it is worth it if you have delicate skin. Sanex Dermo Kids Bodywash and Foam Bath
by thefifth My daughter suffers from eczema so I have to be very careful about what comes into contact with her skin. I've tried baby bath products, but they don't bubble up too well, and the shop's own and Mr Matey type bubble baths tend to irritate her skin. Most of the time I try to bath her in plain water, but she's a girl who loves to pamper ... herself in a nice bubbly bath and this product is one that I know I can use quite safely without it causing her skin any problems. I must point out that my daughter's eczema is quite mild, so if you were thinking of using this for a child with any skin conditions it's worth getting the advice of a doctor first. The bubble bath smells very nice, it has a kind of melon-like fruit smell, and it bubbles up really nicely. You do get quite a lot in the bottle and you don't have to use that much to get a decent amount of bubbles. However, like all Sanex products it's not especially cheap. A 500ml bottle is between £2.80 - £3.00 (depending on the shop) which is about £1 more expensive than a Radox product and even more against a shop's own brand. We use it quite sparingly, but would tend to only buy it when it's on offer (BOGOF offers are not uncommon). It's also not that easy to track down. I can usually get hold of it in the massive Boots in Manchester city centre, but not always at the smaller stores or supermarkets. Read the complete review |
