Advantages: lower cost - moist - easy open lid - pull out easily

Disadvantages: none

I changed to Asda baby wipes a few months ago in a bid to cut costs. In the past I have always bought pampers wipes as I preferred them to other leading brands. My daughter has very sensitive skin and I was loathed to change the wipes I used in case it caused a reaction. As she has grown older and my younger children don't seem to be so sensitive I decided to try and change to a cheaper brand.

I get my shopping from Asda so had a look at their range of wipes whilst shopping online. The Asda own brand wipes seemed to be the best value without going right down to their smart price range. At the moment you get 6 packs of wipes for £5 which is obviously less than £1 a pack whereas you are over £2 for most other brands.

I use the fragrance free wipes as I find that my daughter's skin reacts to anything heavily scented or coloured.

Now that I have changed I wouldn't change back. Not only is the price much more appealing but there really is very little difference between the asda wipes and any other brand. On the top of each pack is a hard plastic lid that helps to keep the wipes moist once the internal seal has been removed. I notice a few of the other brands don't offer this and you have to keep them in a bulky plastic box if you want to keep them from drying out.
The wipes pull out easily but occasionally you do get more than one at a time but this again is no different to my experience of other wipes. When you get down to the last few wipes they can be very wet and this can cause a sore bottom if you don't allow the skin to dry before replacing the nappy. This is a very common problem with any wipe but I find it help to store the wipes upside down when the pack is not in use and this help to distribute the moisture more evenly.

Each pack contains 80 wipes and you can get them in fragrance free and scented. The scented ones come in a pink packet which my daughter thinks is wonderful. There may be other varieties but as I shop on line these are the only two available to me.

I would recommend these wipes to anyone with young children as they are just as good as any of the branded wipes but at less than half the price.

Summary: Why spend more on something that will be thrown away!
