Advantages: Snap Shut Lid

Disadvantages: Packs vary moistness

I just noticed there is only one other review on this product and it's from someone who doesn't use the wipes on babies, so I thought I would give my viewpoint (as I have two babies...well a 7 month old and a 2 1/2 year old, and both of these children regularly need wiping...be it bottoms, faces or fingers).

I'm not used to writing a review on a product such as this so it will most likely be pretty boring and I'll probably miss out vital information!

When I am shopping for wipes I usually stick to Pampers or Johnsons when they are on offer because you can usually get a bulk pack of 5 or 6 packets of wipes for 5 quid (depending on where you go) which I think is pretty good value. Anyway, when none of the big brands are on offer I often pick up a couple of packs of the Asda Little Angels wipes, last time I bought some they were just less than a pound for a pack which is a good price.

You can either buy fragranced (in a pink packet - very strong odour) or fragrance free (as these are). The picture of these at the top is pretty outdated because they now have a plastic snap shut opening on the top which allows you to keep the wipes fresher for longer.

I thought the wipes themselves work pretty well on a babies bottoms, they clean off the poo very easily and leave the area fresh (unless your child has done a particularly niffy poo...then you may be advised to use fragranced ones just to mask the niff!)

They are a decent size and are pretty strong (no fingers through wipes when cleaning baby's bum).

The wipes are also good for various other uses such as wiping sticky jam or chocolate off my toddler's face and hands, it comes off with a couple of wipes and she's all clean again for the next mess she can create.

They are also useful for wiping sticky finger prints from various household items such as chairs, walls, laminate floor, kitchen cupboards. I tend to have a pack of wipes in every room in the house just so I always have one handy.

What I did notice was that the wipes at the top of the pack seemed to be rather dry, and then as you work your way down to the bottom they become sopping wet, and when wiping bottoms they tend to leave a trail of bubbles (as if they are drenched in a soapy solution). This didn't bother me too much but it meant I had to dry the bottom after cleaning, but I know it may bother other people who are concerned about what they are wiping on their children's backsides. This doesn't happen in every pack but it has happened quite a few times.

While I'm on the subject of the (extremely) wet wipes, the really wet ones are fantastic for cleaning poo off the carpet. My youngest daughter has recently got into the habit of having a 'movement' as soon as I take her nappy off, and yes I know you are all wondering why the hell she isn't on a changing mat when I'm changing her nappy...well the fact is she doesn't stay on it, as soon as I whip her nappy off she's off! I've never known a child so active, so she wriggles away and does a poo while my back's turned. Luckily once the bulk of the poo is removed, these Asda wet wipes really clean the carpet up good and proper.

The snap shut lid is ideal because not only does it keep the wipes moist for longer (not that a pack lasts very long in our house anyway), it also keeps little fingers out! Both of my children have an obsession with baby wipes (probably following my lead) and I used to often leave my eldest in a room only to come back a couple of minutes later to find the entire contents of a pack of baby wipes all over the floor with my daughter sat in the middle smiling innocently. So this lid is a bit of a godsend for me...maybe I should just keep the wipes out of reach.

So there you have it, Little Angels wipes come up trumps, especially at less than a pound per pack. They are far better than the Tesco value ones you can get which are pathetically small and usually very dry.

Summary: Good for all things sticky
