Asda Little Angels Eco Baby Shampoo
Advantages: Cheap and plenty of the product
Disadvantages: Made my hair ever so dried up feeling
Just lately I have been experimenting with what I hoped would be more gentle shampoos. Just lately I have been suffering with a really itchy scalp and on/off dandruff which up until a couple of months ago I'd never had in my life. The only conclusion I could come to is that the stuff I was using was too fragranced, too rich and so I'd go back to basics and use as I have just mentioned more gentle products.
What can me more gentle than a baby shampoo? We all know that baby shampoo can be used by anyone of any age and this one promised to be conditioning too which then meant hopefully I wouldn't have to bother with a separate conditioner.
This Little Angels Shampoo I bought for £1.35 (this is currently on offer with 2 bottles being £2.00 at the time of posting this review) and is a large 750ml in size which I thought was pretty good value considering!
This shampoo comes in frosted white but very see through still bottle with a matching flip-top lid to the top of it as to which conceals a small hole. On the front of the bottle in brightly coloured writing we are told that it is Asda, Little Angels Conditioning Shampoo and that it is gentle on hair & scalp, is a none tears formula and is also hypoallergenic. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, safety advice, ingredients and the size are stated and contact details for Asda are given.
On the front of the bottle we are told that this won an award called the Mother & baby award in 2009 and on the back of it we are also told that this is a shampoo suitable for the whole family to use which of course is important as my hair is not the same as a babies of course lol!
The liquid is a very runny, light yellow liquid and it has a soft floral fragrance to it much like Johnsons and other baby products do really in my opinion. Whatever you deem the fragrance to be its nice enough and not too in your face and sweet enough.
A little of this goes a very long way and lathers up easily and is just as simple to rinse out. You simply use it as you would any other shampoo (so I rinse my hair through with this twice) and of course if you want to you can use whatever conditioner and styling products you want to though like I stated I used this on its own as I was trying to keep my hair dandruff free and with less build up as possible on it.
However I didn't like this shampoo at all. In use it dried my hair out and wasn't conditioning enough for me and so every time I used it, just so I could get a comb through my shoulder length mop I did have to use a conditioner as well in the end.
This did make my fair feel clean enough, the fragrance of it was pleasant enough and lingered on my hair a good couple of hours and I didn't feel overloaded with product and it left my hair as shiny as usual. I did feel this didn't really cleane my hair as much as other shampoos I usually use but it was clean enough.
I can't sadly rave about this shampoo. Without conditioner my hair was a dried up, frizzy and a hard to manage mop but I have managed to get rid of the bottle of it now with the aid of a good conditioner but it really isn't one I shall ever buy again...economy purchase or not!
Only available from Asda stores and from Asda.com
Summary: Not for me this one sadly!
