Advantages: just as good as the leading brands, good lock away core
Disadvantages: don't do bigger pack
I have been using Pampers nappies since my daughter was born, but have tried a couple of other brands to see if they were any good. Most of the others I have tried such as Huggies have given my little girl nappy rash. However, when I was browsing through Asda’s huge baby section, I noticed that they do their own brand of nappies by George. They were a little bit cheaper than Pampers at £4.78 for a pack of 34 compared to £5.65 for Pampers, so decided to give them a try. First test – on initial impressions, the nappy looks just as good quality as Pampers and when trying them on my daughter they fitted quite snugly, but not too tight as to rub on her legs. She seemed really happy to run around in the nappy, and seemed comfortable, so no problems there. Second test – I change my daughter every few hours, unless of course she has done a number 2! When changing her nappy she still felt dry, so the lock away core works well, with no leaks either. I have been using them for a week and there are no signs of a sore bottom yet which I am very pleased about. Third test – does the nappy work well through the night? Sometimes when I change Alex’s nappy in the morning, she is wet through with other brands of nappies. However, the Asda nappy has worked extremely well and no leaking has occurred, and again no nappy rash. Overall in my opinion Asda nappies get the thumbs up and are just as good as Pampers. The only problem is that they don’t do a larger pack that will last longer, unlike Pampers.
