Advantages: Do the job and are cheap too.

Disadvantages: None

I haven't written about nappies for a while. Well it's not the most riveting of topics is it? Even so, with 2 under the age of 2, rather a large proportion of my day is spent changing nappies. It's like a production line sometimes, and I have to say, I always feel guilty about contributing to the world's eco problems. I'm sure my family alone could fill it's own land fill site in 1 week flat. Some of my sons nappy's would surely take more than 100 years to biodegrade!

Buying all these nappies can be a costly affair, and lets face it, all you want the things to do is to catch the poo and keep the pee away from their delicate skin. I prefer a nappy that doesn't leak all over the place, and end up at your toddlers ankles, it tends to restrict their movement somewhat. Nappies that cause skin reactions are also a no no, and their fit is also very important.

Well anyway, on to 'George' nappies at Asda. Not bad, not bad at all. I've tried all the other brands and some are better than others, but my hubby came home with a big packet of these the other day, I think the packet contained around 38 nappies, and they only cost £4.49. I thought, oh here we go, leaks galore, skin rashes, and easily torn nappies, but I was wrong.

I'm using the 'George' nappies on my 5 months old daughter, she is slightly below the average weight for her age, and these nappies fit snuggly. I like the way the elastic around the waist and legs contours well to her chubby little shape, some nappies leave a huge gap between the waist and leg where leakages can occur, but not these. She has only faint elastic marks on her skin when I remove them, and you have to expect some in order to prevent leakages.

The nappies feel really soft on the outside and especially inside, again, some brands are not so soft. So far, I haven't discovered any silicone granules leaking, as can sometimes happen.

My daughter has been wearing these nappies for 1 week, and so far we have
had no leakages, no breakages(such as can happen when fastening nappies some times), and no skin reactions. Her 'bits' have always felt reasonably dry when I have removed a wet nappy, although never 100%.

All in all, these nappies do the job they were designed for perfectly well, I will certainly be buying them again. For £4.49, you can't go far wrong.
