Advantages: Cheap, moisturises skin and works ok (lasts up to 6 months once opened too)
Disadvantages: Not as thick wipes as I'd like and not the best quality
In my handbag I always have stashed a packet of baby wipes. I'm a messy devil at the best of times to be totally honest with you but I find I'm using so many more lately due to being a gym worshipper! I hate getting sweaty but more than that I hate the fact when I come out of the gym knowing I've been on machines other people have sweated all over too and probably picked it up ewwwwwww!
Because I get through so many of them I have of late been purchasing 'cheap' versions and today whilst in Asda I picked this pack of 80 wipes costing a mere 50p!
The Packaging....
Mainly white plastic oblongish packet with a light green band of colour towards the bottom of the packet and what appears to be a matching coloured green bear 'sitting' on it. In dark and light green and black writing I'm told they are Asda 'Smart Price' 80 Baby Wipes. On the back of the packet I'm told a little bit about the product, ingredients and warnings are given, directions on how to use the packet are also given, contact details for Asda are listed and I'm told that Asda is against animal testing and is funding research into alternatives, the best before date is clearly stamped on and finally there is a bar-code on there. Very simple packaging this is but it's informative enough and not too stand out cheap skate looking to be fair to it! It is heavy product though in my opinion and weighs my bag right down but then it does suggest great value for money!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Packet....
Smartprice Baby Wipes are dermatologically tested and contain gently cleansers. They are ideal for use at feeding time on you baby's hands and face or great for all the family as a freshen-up wipe, particularly when travelling.
How To Use The Packet....
Peel back label and use wipe as required.
Reseal label after use to keep wipes moist.
Using The Wipes....
Well as you've probably gathered to the centre of the front of the packet there is a clear resealable flap of plastic. The first problem I encountered with this is instead of staying partially on the packet so I could easily reseal it after use it came completely off! It does every time I take a wipe out which in my mind means it's going to soon lose its stickiness! The second problem is that each time I go to take one wipe out, two do cos they're folded in the packet in such a way and I seem powerless to stop this from happening!
The wipes themselves are quite large oblongish (but wide too) and white in colour. They are reasonably thick cloths though you can see through them in places but they are rather robust and strong.
To the touch they are quite moist but not in a watery way. Nope. They do feel like they have added moisturisers to them and the amount of moistness within these wipes did/does impress me a great deal.
I quite like these. Ok not for big, dirty old messes but great for little, handy refresher wipes. They do remove minor marks and lift up some grime with ease, the residue dries on the skin pretty much immedietely and leaves skin feeling really hydrated (though not greasy), fresh and supple with no fragrance and really just very velvety soft indeed!
The only other complaint I have is to say I don't find these good for facial use at all. They leave my face skin feeling clammy and slightly tight but for a quick wipe anywhere else I think they are great! Not sure about using them for a baby though. When I was nursery nursing for a living I used much better quality one's than these and preferred them for big, dirty jobs but I'm happy to use them on me!
Only available in Asda Stores
Summary: A handy product and economical too!
