Advantages: THE PRICE!!
Disadvantages: Not as fragranced as some, no box
These are the only nappy bags I ever buy. I thought 300 for £1 from Ethel Austin or the £1 shop was a bargain until I found these.....at 88p for 300!! Then when I went to replenish my supplies a couple of weeks ago they had been reduced to 73p, I could not believe it! I only buy a pack of 300 every few months (probably every 2-3 as a rough guess) so they are very good value for money.
I honestly do not believe that there is any need to buy more expensive nappy bags as I have had no problems with these at all.
The bags themselves look like any other nappy bags - very thin plastic with two handles that you tie together when you have filled one. They are fragranced and are turquoise in colour. You will find them in the baby aisle in Asda. They come in a plain white plastic packet with 'Smartprice' written on. The packaging is very no-frills but the bags themselves are as good as any others I've tried.
I'll tell you the pros and cons of them, and you can see for yourself why I choose them:
PROS
- The price - they cost just over 70p for 300!! I think if you're looking for an area to switch down a brand in the current climate this is one to choose. OK, you will only need to buy them every few months so you aren't going to notice a huge saving but it is still worth doing. I don't need to save money but I choose to buy these because after trying them I just cannot see the need to pay any more for nappy bags - after all they go in the bin!
- You can get them with your weekly shop if you shop in Asda.
- They are a lovely soft turquoise colour which I really like as it is unusual - most nappy bags seem to be orange.
- They have a pleasant fragrance, although this is not as strong as the more expensive brands. However I have never noticed a smell coming from the bin when I have used these bags, even after the most disgusting poos, so their scent must be sufficient.
- Did I mention the price?
- The bags themselves are just as good as any of the more expensive ones I have used.
CONS
- They come in a plastic white bag which you have to tear open to get the bags out, so obviously unlike other brands they cannot be stored nicely in the box they come in. However this has honestly never caused a problem, I just have a pile of them under the changing table and it is no different to having a box in reality. When we go away I stuff a few bags into another nappy bag and this is fine for transporting them.
- They are not as perfumed as other brands.
- You can only get them in Asda so they're not much good to you if you shop elsewhere.
SUMMARY
These are well worth trying as I doubt you will go back to the more expensive brands.
Summary: Why pay more?
