We live in a hard water area, which means that we need a to use a large volume of bath or body wash products before we start to notice froth or foam.
Add this to the fact that we have a bubble bath loving five year old who loves her daily soak, and voila. A recipe for going through a bottle of bubble bath on a weekly basis.
We have bought this Avon kids bubble bath several times. This lovely Blueberry Mild and Gentle Bubble Bath is quite fun, in that it turns the water a shade of blue. This is an added bonus that would obviously entice a bath-hating child. Thankfully we do not have that problem in our home. It’s probably worth being aware that despite the water being colored a shade of blue, the actually bath does not remain this color once the bath water is emptied.
We like this bubble bath as it is a gentle clean that leaves our daughter’s skin soft, and it also a lovely soft fruity scent which is neither overbearing nor particularly long-lasting. i.e. perfect for young children.
The bubble bath liquid is fairly viscous. We tend to use around 20% of the bottle for each bath, in order to achieve the bubbles that our daughter likes. I should emphasise that this is due to our water type and not the product. (The worst products require using half a 250ml bottle.)
Being an Avon product, it is available from Avon reps.
Avon Kid's Range Blueberry Bubble Bath
250ml Plastic Container that is recylable
The kids range from Avon is probably a bit more expensive than many other popular kids ranges but it is well worth the little bit extra and Avon often do special offers that sometimes incorporate some or all of the range.
This product is the delicious Blueberry Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath. It creates lots of lovely soft fluffy bubbles, changes the water to an enticing blue colour and helps get the kids squeeky clean. Features a lovely fruity fragrance that lingers on the fresh clean skin long after bath time.
The cap is an easy to use flip top, which is great if using a washing gel. I simply squeeze a little, probably about the size of a 50p for really enticing bubbly blue water, under the running tap and swoosh it around.
Which child can resit a bubbly blue, sweet smelling bath? Well some little tykes will, but this will help! As with the rest of the range the tactile bottle features a cheeky, friendly face to entice the reluctant bather. We see this as the added extra: A free toy! - With its cheery face and ergonomic shape the bottle doubles up as a bath-time toy, making bath-time much more for fun for children staying away from home where it's not practical for the toys to go too. We love getting it out when the grand kids stay and with its cheery face makes my husband smile in the morning when he first goes into the bathroom!
Good enough on it's own for a quick daily bath, I've found that a little extra is needed for the worst grass stained knees or really grubby elbows, but this product gives your children the luxury they deserve.
Use a sponge and squeeze it in the bath a few times to increase the lovely bubbliness!
Designed to be mild and gentle for kid's, there skin is always on tip top condition using this and we have no complaints whatsoever.
In conclusion, it is the best children's bubble bath I have found,it is a bargain, when you can buy it in a really good offer. Go on spoil them!
Price and Availability: Normal price is £2.50, but I stock up when it is on offer and have eve bought these for a £1 a time. From Avon Catalogues via a Representative, Avon on-line or outlets such as Amazon or eBay (see the DOOYOO links).
Lately we have been buying Avon Kids Bubble Bath. Getting our little lad to have a bath is becoming more of a problem as he gets older and washing his hair is a complete nightmare. We are always on the lookout for something to 'tempt' him to want to get clean and Avon Kids Bath looked like it might just do the trick.
We bought this out of the Avon catalogue, which our next-door neighbour runs and we paid £2.50 for our 250ml bottle. Sometimes this is on special offer of half price, though we always seem to miss the offer and end up having to pay the full price. The bottle we have (and had previously) is a bright yellow plastic, and not the blue colour as here in this picture. It is bright and eye catching and certainly designed to be child-friendly and appealing to kids.
The perfume of the one we use is great and suitable for both girls and boys. We pour a small amount of the liquid under his bathwater as it runs and it soon develops into a load of great bubbles - some of them are massive. The liquid is fairly runny in consistency and a gel like texture. It smells fruity and very fresh and not flowery at all.
The bottle may only contain 250ml but you really don't need a lot of this stuff to produce a bath load of great bubbles. What's more, the bubbles seem to last for ages. Once we actually manage to get him into a bath, it's often difficult to get him back out again and he'll sit there until the water gets tepid. Even so, the bubbles will last right until the end, even though he's also using soap in the bathwater. This stuff is fairly impressive.
I have even used this bubble bath myself, on occasion and I am happy to be smelling like a fruity berry afterwards. The bubble bath is kind and gentle on our skin and the smell is long lasting. It's great stuff for all the family to use, I think, and it certainly encourage sour little lad to take a bath more regularly.
I'm not a kid and I don't have kids so why do I end up buying this? Just because it is nice and has a fruity scent which is lovely.
The Avon Kids range has just underwent a change and I haven't tried the new one of this. I would imagine that the scent would be the same, but the picture of the bottle on here is an old picture. After this design the bottle changed to a yellow coloured bottle and the rest of the range were also in yellow bottles so it was a bit harder to tell which was which. Now the bottles are still yellow, but they have what looks like little legs on them, and look alright.
This comes in a 250ml bottle and the right price of this is £2.50, but it is on offer every other book basically. I tend to buy this when it is half price so £1.25 is a good price for me.
When you open this bottle you will get a nice scent of Blueberry. It does smell like fresh Blueberry and is lovely, but there is a slight synthetic kind of scent from this so it doesn't smell quite as natural Blueberries as other products that I have used. The liquid is a gel and is slightly runny. I pour a decent sized amount of this under a running tap.
This produces a good amount of fine Bubbles. There is clumps of Bubbles but this doesn't seem to give the amount of stiffer bubbles I am used to with adult Bubble bath, but the fine Bubbles are fine and although some of them do disappear there is still some Bubbles left when I get out of the bath.
I can still smell the scent of Blueberry on my skin after I have dried myself but the scent doesn't seem to last all that long.
A really nice Bubble bath and certainly not just for kids.
When I was an Avon rep I always stocked up on these products when they on offer as I knew they were good to my daughters skin, her having had eczema this is a concern for me.
The range is of course from Avon and there are numerous items in the range, a detangling spray, body wash, 2 in 1 shampoo for fine hair, 2 in 1 shampoo for normal hair and the bubble bath, for the summer there is also a suncare part to the range. When I last bought this it had a selling price of £2.50 although I personally bought it on an offer, I have just had a look what they are selling at now and they have gone up to £2.60, VAT increase I guess, this is for 250mls. This range does tend to go on offer very often and therefore I wouldn't ever pay full price for it.
The bottle it comes in is yellowy orange with a yellow flip top lid, the bottle has curved sides to ¾ of the way up the bottle where it pinches in and then curved up and overt the lid. The bottle above is the old style and now these have a monkey on the front pictured in bubbles washing itself with a brush. On the front you have the Avon kids logo along with a little circle which tells you the fragrance, this particular one is blueberry. On the rear of the bottle are the instructions for use - pour under running water, the ingredients, a warning to keep away from children, Avons address and the symbol for a 12 month shelf life.
On opening the bottle there is a hole in the lid for dispensing the liquid and it smells more like bubblegum than blueberry to me. The liquid is quite thick but comes out easily, pouring under the water it does make plenty of bubbles and it does fragrance the bathroom both of these however are not very long lasting. My daughters skin is soft when she gets dried but whether this is due to the bubble bath or her body wash I don't know but once the bath is finished there is no remnants anymore, no smell in bathroom, on skin or even stray bubbles in the bath.
I would recommend this to a certain extent, to the point that the bath is nice and it doesn't irritate even sensitive skin however the effect are very short and I honestly think there are other things out there for children just as good and probably better. The other thing is if you don't have an Avon rep the postage for ordering on the web is £3.50 so it would become a very expensive product.
I LOVE this Avon Bubble Bath, even though it is designed for bathing your kids, i actually bought it for myself a few years back! I knew that it would smell lovely with it being meant for kiddies, and the Blueberry flavour sounded just delicious. I have to admit i did feel a bit silly when i had guests over and they would ask why i had Kids Bubble Bath in the bathroom when at the time i had no kids!
Just as the description in the Avon Brochure promised, this Bubble Bath smelt so fruity and delicious and it really does smell like blueberries. It does make the bath really buubly which i can imagine will be great fun for the kids. I don't often have the time to run a bath becaue the bath in my house is a huge corner style one so its takes ages to fill, so i usually just have showers and i found this worked perfectly as a Shower Gel and it actually made for a perfect bubbly body wash! The smell in my showers was simply gorgeous!
It would be a pleasure to bath my kids with this, especially as it's a Mild and Gentle formula so it won't irritate their skin or sting their eyes and i probably will use it for my son in the future. It is also good value for money, the 250ml bottle is usally £2 from Avon but the Kids range is often on special offer at half price.
I have used this product for all 3 of my sons (eldest is 8 youngest is 1). Bathtime bubbles seem to vary from bath to bath.
It has a lovely blueberry smell and is a bright blue colour, my boys love the fact they have a coloured bubble bath compaired to mostly white ones. It is ideal for sensitive skin, which 2 of my boys have. We have never had a reaction to this product. It also doesnt leave hair greasy like some bubbles do when the children tip boats/water cups on hair, nor does it seem to sting their eyes. the bottle is designed to appeal to children with its shape and face.
Sometimes we seem to get lots of bubbles, other times we dont get many. I dont know if this depends on how much we pour in the bath, if it is poured under running water or nearer the top/bottom of the bottle, and how deep the water is. but it does vary.
A bottle lasts for about 3weeks, and is used to bath 3 children at least 3times a week. it is priced at £2.50 a bottle but is quite often on offer - buy 1 get 1 free OR 2 for £? OR down to half price. I stock up on it at these times.
The only downside is the top of the bottle opens/closes by lifting/shutting the plastic lid, and is therefore very easy for children to open, my 1yr old has proved this when he emptied a whole bottle on the floor! (now been moved to higher cupboard).
As I have really sensitive skin it is hard to find a bubble bath which doesn't aggrevate my skin so I though a childs bubble bath would just do the trick. I was very impressed that by using this product it didn't make me have a rash or sting in the slightest and I was only red because the water was too hot in the bath but in my opinion thats what temperature baths should be at. As this is a bubble bath product I believed that there would be lots of bubbles in the bath. After using three quaters of the contents I still had a small amount of bubbles which didn't really satisfy me as the whole point of the product was to make there be more bubbles in the bath. Now thinking back it is a baby/child product and shouldn't really be expecting a vast amount of bubbles but don't children like playing with bubbles by making themselves look like santa. The smell of this product is a lovely strong blueberry scent that doesnt leave once the liquid turns into the bubbles. One other problem I had with this product is that once you have applied the blue liquid some of it just goes to the bottom and doesnt actually turn into bubbles.
Bubble Bath Product in General
The bottle has a solid blue plastic lid which can be easy to open so watch the product around children as they could open it. The product is blueberry scented which may bring a new aroma to the child. The bottle has a happy face one which makes it more fun for children meaning it will make bathtimes more enjoyable for you and the child as they will want to have one. It is a 250ml bottle which can be seen as a good amount if the product costs £2.50. Sometimes Avon have offers on these products though. It is also friendly to people who can speak other languages as the instructions are written in a number of languages.
This is an excellent product to use especially for small children and people with sensitive skin. The blueberry smell is overwhelming and makes you want to relax even more when you are in the bath. However, the product doesnt create too many bubbles. It also makes skin gentle and soft.

I am a big fan of avon so I thought I would try the kids stuff, when our usual bubble bath ran out. My kids love bath time - but it is not complete without bubbles! My son loves blueberries, they are his favourite fruit so he was very excited to have a "blueberry bath" as he called it.
The smell is really fruity and sweet, and quite like the actual smell of blueberries and you get plenty of bubbles without having to use half a bottle! The packaging is not to bright and doesnt have cartoons all over it so it doesn't look unsightly on the side of your bath, but does have a nice smiling face on it which is appealing to the kids.
The price is a bit steep I thought at around 2.50 a bottle, compared to other bubble baths on the market, but I got it on an offer for half price, 1.25 which is great! They do this offer often, so it's worth looking out for.
I don't usually buy bubble bath for my kids, my youngest has Eczema so I use special bath products for him and if they want bubbles I find a tiny drop of my Body Shop shower gel gives plenty, but my mother-in-law bought some of this for us the other day so I dutifully gave it a go.
I think Avon must have changed the packaging as mine is in a yellow bottle (the same shape as the one pictured) with a blue label. I have to say I prefer the one in the picture, mine looks a bit cheap and nasty and not something I would chose to buy. This is a 250ml bottle and it cost 99p, but I think that was a special offer price. It is sold as Mild and Gentle Bubble Bath and is Blueberry "flavoured"...
The first thing you notice when opening the bottle is the very strong and sickly smell, though I wouldn't say it smells anything like actual blueberries, more like cheap sweets. I personally don't like the smell of this as I don't like fake, cheap fruity fragrances.
When putting any products in my sons' baths I tend to use a minimal amount as they have shallow baths and their skin is fairly sensitive. However that wasn't possible with this bubble abth as it's so runny that as soon as I tipped it up, loads came rushing out. I was not pleased about this as I expected the bath to fill up with millions of bubbles but actually considering how much product went in, there weren't really that many. I get just as many bubbles from a lot less of my shower gel...
The bubbles lasted well and the smell lingered (if that's a good thing for you!) though not on the children (thankfully) so it's not completely rubbish but I will certainly not be dissapointed when we run out of this - which won't be long considering how much comes out each time!
I am pleased to say that this product did not appear to irritate my son's Eczema so it is indeed Mild and Gentle as claimed. Though that's about the only favourable thing I have to say about it. It does still contain Sodium Laureth Sulphate and many other odd sounding chemicals so is by no means natural.
I'm quite lucky, in that my daughter (now six) has always enjoyed having a bath . Despite that, I still do worry about products perhaps being too strongly perfumed for young skin, and irritable to the eyes. Some time ago, an avon catalogue popper through my door, and I saw the Mild and Gentle bubble bath in the catalogue, and decided that mild and gentle was exactly what I wanted for my daughter, and placed an order .
It took about a week and a half for the product to be delivered, but when it did, I was very pleased . Firstly, the packaging is designed to attract children and be fun -a blue character with a cheerful expression, with the more solid lid appearing to look a little like a baseball cap. I have a thing about bottles with faces - some time ago I reviewed the Mateys character bubble baths, saying how much I liked the fact that you could attribute personalities to the bottles and tell imaginative stories - and you can do exactly the same with this .
The bottle, aside from being attractive and playfully designed, has a nice comfortable to hold curved shape, and a lid that flips easily open with one flick of the thumb. The minute the lid is flipped, a sweet sugary blueberry scent is released - a scent that seems to become stronger when actually mixed into the bathwater.
A tiny squirt and a quick handswish under the taps is all that is needed to produce strong white long lasting bubbles, and the scent starts to fill the room . When pouring, I found this neither too thick nor too runny, and was able to easily control the amount I poured into the bath, which I liked .
My daugher loved this . She loved having her own personal bath product, and she happily submerged her face under the water without any eye irriatation at all. It didn't bother her skin, and the bubbles and the bottle provided her with lots of fun .
The downside to this is that it IS an Avon product . While it is reasonably priced at £2.50 full price ( it's often available on multibuy offers for much cheaper) the difficulty comes in getting hold of it. My local avon lady appears to have stopped doing rounds, which means should I choose to buy this again, I would have to do so through the Avon website, which would mean adding on delivery costs.
Despite it being an excellent product, I don't think I will be ordering it again unless I needed to order several Avon products at once - I just can't justify paying to have it delivered . However, if you do have a regular Avon lady, I do recommend this .
4 stars - one off for it not being something I can easily buy in the shops .
My 2-year old boy simply hated bath time. Almost each morning when I tried to lead him to the bathroom door, he would shout and run away from me as fast as he could like Bugs Bunny in Loony Tunes.
Each bath time was a struggle for me. All I wanted was to get over with it and proceed to my house chores. I have been buying bathroom toys that captured his interest at first and made him rush to the bathroom door ahead of me. However, when he would be tired of those toys, it would be difficult to take him to the bathroom again.
When my Avon Representative showed me an Avon Catalogue, I was attracted with the bottle of Avon Kids Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath so I ordered two bottles.
My order arrived after 4 days. When I unpacked the 2 plastic bottles of Avon Bubble bath along with 2 lipsticks and a body lotion, he threw away his ball and grabbed a bottle of this bubble bath thinking it was a toy. I smiled knowing it was a good start of a peaceful bath time
THE TOY... OOPS..THE BOTTLE
Avon Kids Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath comes in a blue plastic container with blue flip-top cap. My toddler tried to open the cap but it was too tight for him to open. When I flipped it up with my thumb, it easily opened. I can't tell if all Avon Kids Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath container caps are intently made tightly but I was thankful I got a tight cap so my toddler couldn't open it up on his own.
The plastic bottle looks like a toy. It has the design of a chubby and friendly guy without hands and with his smiling face printed at the front. He seemed to be sitting as his feet were printed at the bottom part of the bottle. My toddler loves to talk to this chubby-bottle guy as I lather him.
The transparent blue bottle makes me see through the content clearly.
Oh I love the sweet scent and I know my toddler loves it too. It smells like blueberry candy with sugar. At first, my kid though that it was a liquid candy so he tried tasting it though his finger while I was not looking and he cried due to the bitter taste. He didn't do it again.
The sweet scent filled the bathroom each time I would be using this bubble bath and its sweetness lingers for about 15 minutes on my toddler's skin after stepping out from the bathroom.
Avon Kids Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath is not so thick nor runny. A 250-ml bottle is good for about 8 uses. I put a generous amount of the liquid on water and I agitate the water with my hand. the more I agitate it, the more bubbles appear. The bubbles disappear in about 2 minutes but agitating the water again creates bubbles.
THE EFFECT ON SKIN
Avon Kids Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath is mild and doesn't dry out my toddler's skin. Well, it is intended for kids and I already expected it to be gentle. Avon advertised that this bubble bath is safe for all skin types and ultra gentle on kids' skin.
I personally think that what Avon boasts about this product is true enough. My toddler has not experienced itchiness due to dry skin with it and it has not caused him rashes. My finger does not leave a mark when I run it through his skin after using this one.
The regular price on Avon Catalogue is £2.50 for a 250-ml bottle but I got it for £1.75 as one of sale items on the campaign month that I bought it. It's a good buy for £1.75 but buying it in its regular price is not a good idea as it becomes too expensive when bought at £2.50. Well, buying Avon Kids Mild & Gentle Bubble Bath is like buying both a toy bottle and the liquid bubble bath soap content so I think some mums would consider purchasing it at £2.50.
When my cousin gave me a load of Avon stuff when she quit her round there was loads of bottles of the Avon Kids stuff for my 2 year old sister, Avon had sent her tonnes of the stuff to sell on and then refused to collect it at their expense so she gave it to me and told Avon to stuff it!!! lol
They all smell yummy but this blueberry smelling bubble bath is gorgeous and fruity and I love running my sister a bath because the fruity smell lasts for ages and I've also used it in my own bath before when I fancy living like a kid again.
You don't need to put a lot in the water to get enough bubbles for kids to play in in the bath and the lather is thick so it doesn't disappear in minutes. My sister loves bubbles and has been let down lately with some kids bubble baths that promise loads of bubbles but really just give you a thin layer than dissolve as soon as she starts playing in it. She's usually in the bath for about 20 mins and even when she gets out there's still loads of bubbles floating on the top of the water.
From my point of view it's proper cleansing but doesn't moisturise my skin like some other kids bubble baths like Johnsons or the Tesco kids range. I love the smell of it and the way it makes the whole bathroom smell of sweet fruity blueberrys and also the way the smell stays on mine and my sisters skin because even though the smell of blueberries fades quite quickly it leaves us with a lovely sugary smell that's a bit like those Sugar Cubes you can buy from Sanctuary.
The usual price is £2.50 but the kids range is usually half price in most of the Avon books. I don't think I'd pay that for it because it comes in such a little bottle that you only get about 5 or 6 baths out of it and there are bubble baths for kids that are just as good as this but a lot cheaper like Funky Farm or even Matey if your in a nostalgic mood! For half price though it's wicked and I'll deffo keep an eye out on the special offers in the book now our stocks are running down.
Avon has been supplying the UK with a great range and diversity of top quality and affordable products. The categories for these products include fashion, make-up, bath and body care, hair care and kids store to name a few.
Typical prices for Avon bath and beauty products for kids range from around 99p-2 pounds depending on what deals are going on in that particular campaign. The current price for the kids blueberry bubble bath at the minute is 1.75 pounds for 250mls and its full price is 2.50 which is still a pretty good deal but I would recommend to anyone that you should never pay the full price for Avon items as eventually the prices will be reduced by at least 20% usually in the next campaign brochure.
Other kids range products from Avon include
Kid's detangling spray (currently 1.75 for 200mls)
Kid's mild gentle body wash (currently 1.75 for 250mls)
Kids super gentle 2 in1 shampoo for fine hair, normal hair and wavy hair (currently 1.75 for250mls)
How we came across the product
My mother and I obtained this product after selecting the ten items for ten pounds offer a couple of campaigns ago. Very few people in our family ever take baths anymore however all of us being 20 plus years old and not really having the time or the interest anymore.
How we use it
However much like the rest of the Avon bubble bath range we have discovered that it makes a great scented hand soap replacement for our downstairs water closet. We do the same with the lavender bubble bath as the liquid is quite thick in consistency and smells really nice.
Very attractive and child friendly in the shape of a little person, it has a friendly smiley face with two little feet near the bottom of the bottle with the scent of the product written inside them. Though it took me a while to figure out what scent it was supposed to be as the writing is quite small and not very obvious. The cap is a flip up one which is more convenient than a screw top one if you are using this product on wriggly kids at bath time.
The substance is thick and a medium blue colour, the product smells a bit more like a fruity bubblegum than blueberry in my opinion but it is a really nice scent which does stay on your skin for a while. It dosent dry your skin out either like some similar products by other companies.
Message on the back
It is advised that it is kept out of reach of young children however as the bright coloured and friendly looking bottle could easily attract attention. The easy open top could also allow children to eat this which may give them a nasty shock so keep it out of the way.
I am a big fan of avon so as soon as I heard that my friend had signed up as a rep. I was quick to get a book from her so I could stock up on all my favourite avon products. This Kids mild and gentle buble bath being one of my favourites.
I normally use all the avon kids bath range on my children they do various products such as: shampoo and conditioner for different hair types, body wash, detangling spray and then the bubble bath. The little slogan for the kids range is all bubbles no troubles and I definitely agree with that.
The price of the bubble bath can vary depending what the offer is I brought the bubble bath when there was a deal on that you can buy any two products from the kdis range for £3.00. In the recent book that I got it costs £2.50 for it or you can buy two products for £2.50 so obviously you would mix and match the items or buy two lots of the bubble bath as it will cost the same as buying one. I find this price is very reasonable and it is a brand that I can trust.
The bubble bath is in a lovely blue frosted plastic bottle you can see the blue bubble liquid through it. On the front of the bottle there is a smiley face and the words kids in funky writing. The lid is made out of strong plastic and is a nice light blue colour with a little lid that you pop up to pour the bubble bath out of. The bottle is nicely shaped I think it is very attractive to kids eyes. On the back of the bottle it states it's mild and gentle and to keep out of reach of young children then underneath that the same instructions are repeated in various different languages.
The bottle holds 250 ml of bubble bath so enough to last your child for a few baths. I normally squirt how much I want in the bath then splash it around so it bubbles. The smell is lovely it is bluberry and I find the smell is fresh and strong. The bubble bath states that it's mild and gentle and I defintely agree as my daughters have sensitive skin but they are fine with this bubble bath. When they get out the bath they smell lovely and there skin feels nice and smooth. When they have finished all of the bubble bath the bottles never go to waste. They normally end up filling them up wiv with water and squirt it around the bath.
Overall a great bubble bath that I would defintely recommend.
This review is also on ciao under the same name thaank you for reading.
