I'm quite lucky, in that my daughter (now six) has always enjoyed having a bath . Despite that, I still do worry about products perhaps being too strongly perfumed for young skin, and irritable to the eyes. Some time ago, an avon catalogue popper through my door, and I saw the Mild and Gentle bubble bath in the catalogue, and decided that mild and gentle was exactly what I wanted for my daughter, and placed an order .

It took about a week and a half for the product to be delivered, but when it did, I was very pleased . Firstly, the packaging is designed to attract children and be fun -a blue character with a cheerful expression, with the more solid lid appearing to look a little like a baseball cap. I have a thing about bottles with faces - some time ago I reviewed the Mateys character bubble baths, saying how much I liked the fact that you could attribute personalities to the bottles and tell imaginative stories - and you can do exactly the same with this .

The bottle, aside from being attractive and playfully designed, has a nice comfortable to hold curved shape, and a lid that flips easily open with one flick of the thumb. The minute the lid is flipped, a sweet sugary blueberry scent is released - a scent that seems to become stronger when actually mixed into the bathwater.

A tiny squirt and a quick handswish under the taps is all that is needed to produce strong white long lasting bubbles, and the scent starts to fill the room . When pouring, I found this neither too thick nor too runny, and was able to easily control the amount I poured into the bath, which I liked .

My daugher loved this . She loved having her own personal bath product, and she happily submerged her face under the water without any eye irriatation at all. It didn't bother her skin, and the bubbles and the bottle provided her with lots of fun .

The downside to this is that it IS an Avon product . While it is reasonably priced at £2.50 full price ( it's often available on multibuy offers for much cheaper) the difficulty comes in getting hold of it. My local avon lady appears to have stopped doing rounds, which means should I choose to buy this again, I would have to do so through the Avon website, which would mean adding on delivery costs.

Despite it being an excellent product, I don't think I will be ordering it again unless I needed to order several Avon products at once - I just can't justify paying to have it delivered . However, if you do have a regular Avon lady, I do recommend this .

4 stars - one off for it not being something I can easily buy in the shops .
