I tried the usual Sudocrem when I had my baby, but it was quite difficult to apply, and I thought that this would probably discourage me from using it. I had only tried it because it was free anyway. I then tried Savlon, and used it until my daughter was about 12 months old. I is easy to put on, and because it is thinner than Sudocrem it is more economical. It was like spreading lard on a roast using the Sudocrem. Also, if you buy Savlon nappy cream from stores like Tesco's, they usually have a two for one offer on now and then, so it is worth buying four, which would probably last you most of the time you needed it. I tried this cream as an alternative barrier to sudo cream ( which I found was quite difficult to apply due to its thickness) and after one tub never used any thing else on my daughters bum! It's really easy to apply it just glides on where as sudo cream tended to end up being plastered on. Its also a bit cheaper than sudo cream. I can definetly recommend this as a good easy to use but effective barrier cream. My daughter never had nappy rash even when she was in washable nappies. I use mainly for Jacks bum, Metanium cream, however this is sometimes not practical when you are out, as it stains clothes, and now I have a child that wriggles when changing his nappy this is not easy, as it gets everywhere. I decided to give Baby Savlon a go, we all use or have in our medicine cabinets a tube of Savlon for cuts etc, and thought that the nappy cream would be good too. Its nice and cool going on (Jack has developed nappy rash over the last couple of days due to the appearance of 2 teeth) They sell it in a small and large tub and so far I have not run out.
