My eldest nephew is 11 years old and there has been near enough a baby every year since he was born so I had had alot of dealings with babies before having my own but the one thing I have hated doing with every single baby is bathing them. I hate the fact that the water makes the baby so slippy and trying to hold them and wash them at the same time is a nightmare so when I first had my daughter there was no way i was going to go through a struggle every time I needed to bath her.
I had gone into Boots expecting to buy one of the foam shaped cushions for baby to lay on although I still didn't think this was the best option I didn't actually think there was another option so I was surprised when I saw this on the shelf, better still it had 20% off so I only paid £8 for it. I was so glad I had found something that I got home and put the baby bath straight into the loft knowing she would use the big bath from then on.
The seat is made from white plastic and has two suckers on the bottom to secure it to the bath and ensure your baby is safe, the plastic is curved to fit your babies body and has a raised bit between the legs and under the arms to keep your baby in place. The seat is diagonal so allows your baby to look around rather than having the flatness of the foam moulds. The seat is suitable from newborn until your child is trying to get put of it as both my daughters have done in the end.
The seat is very easy to use and you simply put it into the bath and then push the suckers onto the bath to secure it. Both my babies have used this and it is still in fantastic condition so well worth the money, washing your baby whilst usin the seat is easy and I simply sat my babies up a little to wash their backs etc. Both of my girls have ended up working out that if they push through their feet they could raise there bum and get over the plastic betwen their legs but neither of them managed this before 5 months so still had good use from it. This itm is fantastic for making bathing babies much easier and made me confident enough to bath the children on my own.
I was given a bath set when I was expecting my daughter I only managed to use it twice as my daughter hated it and wriggled so much it was impossible for me to wash her. I looked into the foam bath supports but didn't fancy a piece of foam going mouldy in the bathroom. I saw this in Boots for just £10.
The bath support is suitable from birth until your baby outgrows it. The bath seat is made of thick plastic with two suction caps on the bottom to stick it into the bath. It is contoured to fit your baby's shape and make them feel snug and secure in the bath. It is slightly raised so you can fill the bath to cover up to your baby's chest and their legs are free to kick around.
To use the seat you simply place it in the bath and ensure it is stuck securely and then fill the bath.
Since I have been using this my daughter has enjoyed her baths, she is now happy to splash around. Also because the seat is raised she can see what is going on rather than looking at the ceiling. It also leaves your hands free to wash your baby rather than struggling to hold them and wash them at the same time. This seat fits around my daughter comfortably, there are raised pieces of plastic under her arms to support her and her legs are able to move freely so she can kick and stretch out.
Once you have emptied the bath you simply remove this and allow it to dry.
I would definately recommend this in place of a traditional bath as it makes life so much easier. My daughter enjoys the freedom of being in a full size bath.
