When I was pregnant with my first child I never gave any thought to what type of nappy I would use with my child, I just assumed that I would use disposable, however when my son was around 3 months old, I was doing some shopping in the city and decided to pop into the library. As I entered the library a woman approached me, she asked me what kind of nappies I used with my baby, when I told her I use disposable she asked if I would consider trying re-usable 'real' nappies on my son. I told her I had no objection to using them; however I didn't think I would be able to afford it. Disposables may cost more in the long run, but there was no initial layout to worry ... I never thought that I would ever use cloth nappies as I was very adverse to the idea of scraping out pooey nappies!, as far as I was concerned I was quite happy to sling the used nappies in the bin and forget about them! However, things changed since the birth of my second child. I started to get a bit worried by how many nappies were going into the bin at the end of every day with 2 children under 2 and also the cost started to really mount up with them both using a packet of nappies each a week! I started to think about cloth nappies when my son was getting very bad nappy rash and I thought that a cloth nappy would let his skin breathe a bit more than ... Read the complete review

I was very keen to use reuseable nappies, both to help the environment and save myself money. I did a lot of research into the types of nappies available and looked out for recommendations. These Bambino Mio nappies were cheaper than some of the other options, and were also recommended to me by a friend who had been using them for nearly a year. So, we decided to give them a go and bought enough to use while our baby was a newborn. The are the prefold type of nappy, and come in two parts- a cotten inner which is folded to create the absorbent part of the nappy, and a plastic outer part which is waterproof. You can then use a liner if you wish to catch the ... Read the complete review

I have been using Bambino Mio prefolds since August and am totally converted. (They are rectangular cotton nappies made with layers of cotton. You fold them into three and place inside a waterproof wrap.) To start with I did have problems with leakage, but I was keen to use cloth and persevered and I’m so glad that I did. (With washing, the cotton does get more absorbent.) It takes a bit of practice, but soon it really is as easy as using disposables. There are all the advantages of using cloth on your baby (more healthy – no chemicals next to your babies skin, cheaper – in the long run, more comfortable – no scratchy paper, less damage to ... When we were expecting our first child (now aged 2 1/2 yrs), I convinced my husband that reuseable nappies were the way to go. I didn't like the idea of dispoables - too expensive; use too many resources (a cup and a half of oil per nappy apparently) and spent years decaying in land fill sites. So £180 later I had a complete set of Bambino Nappies. How excellent I thought. With the added benefit of being able to use them for future children as well. Marvellous idea. And they were for the first 12 weeks of her life. I didn't mind having buckets of nappie soloution around the house, I was saving the environment and money as well. I ... Read the complete review
