Leaky and not easy to use (Bambino Mio Pure Cotton Nappies)

I was very keen to use reuseable nappies, both to help the environment and save myself money. I did a lot of research into the types of nappies available and looked out for recommendations. These Bambino Mio nappies were cheaper than some of the other options, and were also recommended to me by a friend who had been using them for nearly a year. So, we decided to give them a go and bought enough to use while our baby was a newborn.
The are the prefold type of nappy, and come in two parts- a cotten inner which is folded to create the absorbent part of the nappy, and a plastic outer part which is waterproof. You can then use a liner if you wish to catch the solids.
We tried them out once the meconium gave way to more normal poo but didn't have much success. They looked uncomfortable, and our daughter certianly didn't seem impressed. We found they were soaked through very quickly, which led to some leaking and lots of wet clothes and bedding.
After another week or so we gave them another go, thinking she may have grown into the size more. However, we found they were just as bad. Our daughter seemed very uncomfortable in them, they just didn't last anywhere near as long as disposables, and we didn't want to use them again.
We also found they were quite fiddly to put together and get on the baby. They nearly put me off reuseables completely, but we have since found a much better brand which work really well and we have stuck with them.
I couldn't recommend these at all, although if you are after a cheaper option I guess you could try them as some people seem to have success.

Summary: Nearly put me off reuseables completely!
