Advantages: perfect for nappy rash, tattoos healing
Disadvantages: none, whatsoever!
When my daughter was a baby, this was my preferred cream (although occasionally I used Sudocrem) and always had numerous tubes laying around the house, and in various bags for when we were out and about.
Bepanthen is ideal for numerous reasons and so can be widely used not only for baby changes but also tattoos!
It comes in a white tube, which comes in a box with the simple Bepanthen wording, with baby blue fading design. The tube is metal so can have slightly sharp corners, so definitely not to be left nearby babies unattended as will cause harm!
It comes out in a thick white cream, which is slightly sticky but perfectly easy to apply. I like that the tube hole is relatively small so with gentle pushing it doesn't occur that too much comes out at one time. The brand advertises that Bepanthen does not contain perfumes, antiseptics or preservatives and is clinically proven to protect from the causes of nappy rash.
I found this cream to be excellent for nappy rash, more beneficial in comparison to Sudocrem in preventing the occurrence of nappy rash as it acts as a barrier between rash and skin. Containing pro-vitamin B5. Pro-Vitamin B5 gently it aids natural skin recovery, while keeping it soft smooth and moisturised, and I always found my daughter's bottom to be soft and smooth and witn constant application after frequent nappy changes Bepanthen kept any redness or soreness at bay.
When my sister had a tattoo recently, I still had some lying around the house so she used this every 2 or 3 hours to preventing the tattoo drying out (as it needs to be moist at first) and to aid the healing process as tattoo's remove layers of skin. It was perfect for this purpose and and she was over the moon! A 30g tube costs around £3 but good to shop around in supermarkets and pharmacists as you can always get a good deal :)
Overall, I cannot fault this product as it does the job,l perfect for my little one's posterior and I am sure any mum out there will only experience good results from using it!
Summary: perfect ointment for those in nappies :)
