When I had my baby boy my friends had put together a hamper for me of all things baby. One of the things in there was this Boots baby bubble bath. The bottle is transparent and I liked this as it meant that you could see how much of it you had left. It also has indentations either side which is great as it makes holding the bottle nice and easy. The actual liquid is quite runny so be careful not to pour too much out as you really don't need a lot of this at all to create a lot of bubbles. I found that this had a very fresh smell and really liked it, it just smelt so clean! The bubble bath is also tears free which is great as my little boy loves to splash and so he ends up with it in his eyes all the time but his never complained! After using this my son's skin always feels much more softer and the smell lingers on him which I love. I would definitely recommend this as not only is it a great product but its a really good price. I have since bought this and paid under £2 which I think is a bargain as you don't need to use to much of it and so it lasts quite a while.
I recieved several bottles of this in a box that my collegues made up for me before my maternity leave. You can buy this bubble bath in Boots in two sizes the smaller which is 300ml and costs £1.42 and the larger which is 500ml and costs £1.83. The bubble bath comes in a see through bottle which has handy indents on the side to make it easy to hold even when wet. The baby bath has a tearless formulation, is hypo-allergenic making it suitable for sensitive skin and it is dermatologist and paediatrician approved. The bubble bath is designed for babies delicate skin to cleanse and moisturise without drying it out. To use the bubble bath you simply add to warm running water. One thing I noticed when I was using this was how similar the scent is to Johnson's blue baby bath. It smells as clean and fresh and is a recognisable scent to most parents. The bubble bath was however very runny, you have to be careful or you end up using too much and having masses and masses of bubbles which take forever to rinse out of the bath afterwards! When you do get the right amount it foams up nicely and the smell lingers in the bathroom. After using this my daughters skin was lovely and soft. It had a nice baby fresh scent too. This bubble bath is cheaper than Johnson's for a much bigger bottle so it is good value for money! I would definately buy it again!
Not just for baby! *About the Product* The product I am going to review this evening is Boots Bath Bath. As you would expect, this is a bubble bath designed for babies. The bubble bath has been formulated for the past 75years by Boots experts. *The Packaging* The bottle I have is different to the stock photo. It is the same shape though which is tall and wavy to allow parents to keep a good grip whilst using this in the bath. The bottle is blue in colour however you can vaguely see the liquid inside. The front label has the name of the bubble bath along with the famous Boots logo, some claims, the size of the bottle and a lovely picture of a baby. The label on the back is very clear and not overloaded but contains information on what the product does, how to use it, ingredients and the company details. The lid is a flip top lid for easy opening. *Claims* Boots claim that the baby bath has a tearless formulation, is hypo-allergenic, is consultant dermatologist and paediatrician approved, clinically tested and lanolin free. Information from the bottle - Boots baby bath gentle cleanses delicate skin without drying, leaving skin and hair clean and soft. Developed with Boots' unique tearless formulation, this mild baby bath is especially gentle to the eyes. It is also available from Boots online. The cost of a 300ml bottle is £1.59, a 500ml is £1.79 and a 750ml is £2.69. These are available in various types including lavender. The baby event is currently running in Boots until mid March and these are part of the 5 for £5 range. You can mix and match with baby wipes and other Boots branded toiletries. I expected the 750ml not to be included in the offer but it is so normal price for 5 x 750ml bottles is £13.45 but buy it on offer and you will save £8.45, gain 20 advantage card points *double if you are a member of the parenting club* and they are also giving away a No7 £5 off voucher when you spend £5 so this is a true bargain!!! *My Opinion* I have been purchasing Boots baby bath since my son was born. I had at first decided to use Johnsons but could not afford to buy that on a regular basis and believe that Boots own brand is trusted and cheaper! My son hates going in the bath so extra bubbles seems to keep him happy for a while. Whilst running his bath, I add a small amount to the warm water and this enough to create a mass of lovely smelling bubbles! The smell of the bubble bath is not strong though smells clean and fresh and very well, baby like! I also squeeze a little onto the Boos sponge and wash him down and wash his hair with this and it makes his skin very soft aswell as his lovely blond hair. My son has quite dry skin on his legs and arms like myself and I certainly notice a difference after using this on him. As we only use a small amount each bath, he doesn't use much personally however I sometimes use this for my own self. I have very sensitive skin which reacts to certain products though I find Boots baby bath makes my skin feel soft which is not a regular thing for me! The bottle lasts us about 3weeks with both of us using it. I like the convenience of the shape of the bottle as I can hold it and still be able to hold Boo at the same time. I would highly recommend this product and would urge you to stock up on the big 750ml bottles whilst they are on offer as it is a bargain not to be missed. My top tip!!! If you are looking for a relaxing wash, leave the closed bottle in the bath whilst you are running the hot water. I left it in the bath by accident and when I squeezed some onto my hand, it was like hot massage oil and very lovely on my skin.
I don't generally use bubble bath with my two boys on a daily basis but they do both love to have bubbles every now and again and, just lately, Boots own brand baby bath has been the staple variety in the bathroom cabinet. Boots are an established brand with a reputation for quality and the baby bath certainly doesn't let the brand down in any way. Whilst the bottle isn't anything out of the ordinary, even the new packaging featuring a cute baby on the front, it is sturdy and practical with a handy flip-top lid. The liquid is easy to squeeze out of the plastic bottle but it is a little thicker than other brands. This is handy, as it makes it harder to squirt out too much bubble bath unintentionally. Even better, I find that this particular baby bath produces loads of white fluffy bubbles, certainly in comparison to the amount of liquid added, and the bubbles actually last for the duration of the bath unlike other more expensive products where the bubbles tend to fade quite quickly. The scent is suitably fresh and delicate, ideal for a baby brand, although it doesn't quite have the distinctive 'baby' fragrance that I automatically associate with the Johnsons brand, although that is hardly surprising given that this isn't a Johnsons product! I do like the smell of this baby bath though, even if I do prefer the trademark Johnsons scent, and find that it leaves just enough fragrance behind on my boys' delicate skin after the bath, without being too strong and overpowering. Although this particular variety isn't marketed as a 'moisturising' type (which Boots also sell in their own brand version) I find that it leaves my boys' skin feeling suitably clean and soft and doesn't dry it out at all. As this is a product designed for babies and young children, it is incredibly gentle and doesn't cause any irritation, either to my boys' sensitive skin or to eyes when they have been splashing about a little too enthusiastically. Both boys have occasional bouts of excema, which is why I don't use bath products such as these on a daily basis, but neither of them seem to have experienced any adverse reaction as a result of bathing in this. Boots baby bath comes in three different sizes: 300ml (£1.59) 500ml (£1.79) and 750ml (£2.69). This compares very favourably with the cost of Johnsons baby bath which Boots currently sell for £1.99 for 300ml and £2.65 for 500ml. The Boots own brand range is frequently on offer making it even better value. It is usually part of some sort of multibuy promotion, often buy three for the price of two or similar, or even better is the occasional 'Buy One Get One Free' offer which is when I tend to stock up. Considering this bubble bath lasts much longer than the Johnsons version, is much cheaper (even at full price) and produces lots of fluffy long-lasting bubbles, I think it is a no-brainer really and I will continue to purchase Boots own brand baby bath.
Tearless, hypoallergenic and consultant paediatrician approved.
