“ This mild baby bath is especially gentle to eyes and contains the aroma of lavender and chamomile to sooth your baby at bathtime. „
For my daughter's bedtime routine she has a bath and fortunately she loves the water. I find that by giving her a bath just before bed calms and sooths her and she easily drifts off into a relaxed sleep. It mind be a mind over matter thing when it comes to these "calming aromas" but for my daughter she ends up falling to sleep instantly when it comes to her bedtime and seems to have a lovely relaxed sleep as she doesn't normally wake up till gone 8am.
I normally opt for Johnsons products but when in Boots recently I noticed that their range of baby toiletries were on offer and apart from getting my extra points it also was quite a big saving compared to the Johnsons products which were not on offer. I opted for Boots Baby Dreamtime Bath which in a 300ml bottle was a reasonable amount especially for the deal I got.
*~* What is it *~*
Boots Dreamtime Bath is a bath foam which contains chamomile and lavender which are known for their calming properties. It is meant to soothe a baby before bedtime whilst cleansing their delicate skin leaving them soft and clean.
*~* Packaging *~*
Like all the Boots range (not Expert or Sensitive range) the bottle the Dreamtime Bath comes in a tall bottle which is shaped at the sides. The bottle is semi-transparent and you can easily see the lilac/ purple coloured liquid so you know how much you have left. The top is a flip top lid which is easy to open when trying to bath a wriggly baby! On the front there is a picture of a baby, the item name and a little tick check list of what the item contains. On the back of the bottle is the usual information you would expect such as contact details for Boots and the ingredients list.
*~* The Dreamtime Wash *~*
~ Consistency ~
The Dreamtime Wash has a medium consistency, it isn't too thin so it runs straight through your fingers or comes out the bottle too quickly but it isn't too thick where you spend ages trying to coax it out of the bottle. I would however like to have it a little thicker as you do tend to get a lot out of the bottle when you tip it up to pour it under the water so sometimes you end up getting too much which gives you far too many bubbles!
~ Colour ~
As I said above it has a lovely lilac, purple colour which is used as we do associated purple shades for night time - apparently! Purple is also quite a calming colour.
~ Scent ~
Well, the lavender isn't dominate in this wash which is a shame but with lavender and chamomile combined they merge to create a lovely delicate, floral aroma which is gentle, not over powering and is actually calming. I found the aroma lovely and a little sweet which was nice, it certainly lasts after the bath and the skin has been dried but it is subtle so won't overpower a child.
~ Bubbles/ Lather ~
As you pour this under warm running water depending on how powerful you have your water then you will get a large amount of frothy bubbles. The bubbles are lovely, gentle and white and are incredibly fluffy which makes it fun for babies! They don't however last for very long unless you put far too much in! If you do end up putting too much Dreamtime Wash in you do get an abundance of white froth in your bath and you can't actually see the water. You don't need to use a lot to get a decent amount of bubbles so don't be too heavy handed with it.
~ Using It ~
My daughter has this in her night time bath and I use it in combination with a body wash with similar calming aromas. The Dreamtime Bath ends up giving the bath a lovely aroma, with soft bubbles which my daughter seems to love. The aroma isn't too strong and stays gently in the background. My daughter has never been irritated by this and her skin has been gently looked after. The Dreamtime Bath is pH balanced so it has been designed to be gentle on a baby's skin but as I can have sensitive skin I am overly cautious when using fragranced products but so far her skin has been left, clean, soft and looked after. My daughter has a tendency to turn her head when in the bath and submerges half of her face and fortunately this is a tearless formula so her eyes do not get irritated by this.
*~* Price & Availability *~*
It is only available from Boots and costs £1.79 for a 300ml bottle. It is regularly on offer and can be bought both in store and online (www.boots.com).

A great bedtime bath foam which will leave babies and their parents calmed and soothed before bed! My daughter loves it and ends up getting a peaceful night sleep so what more could I really want?! Definitely a recommendation!
I only discovered this product on a trip to Boots this week. I usually buy all my toiletries as part of my weekly supermarket shop but in this instance I had missed off a few essentials for my girls. I have always used the Johnsons equivalent of this product. I loved the bath it produced, the gorgeous aroma and most importantly my girls skin were completely fine with it.. we experience no bad reactions.
Having said all that, the Johnsons range is quite expensive and in the last few months we seem to be getting through bottles of the stuff incredibly quickly. My shopping bill seems to be getting out of control so any ways to save pennies will be explored.
Anyway I popped into Boots to pick up some Johnsons bubble bath and while I was scanning the shelves I spotted thie Boots own branded version. This Baby Dreamtime Bath product sounded very similar to the product I was familiar with and was significantly cheaper. I decided to buy a small 300ml bottle costing £1.79 just to see how we got on with it.
In the past I have tried supermarket own branded bubble baths and my girls have complained about the quality and staying power of the bubbles and I fully accept that when you are 2 & 4 the bubbles are what it's all about. The product also comes in a larger 500ml bottle and this one will set you back £1.99.
The product is described on the bottle as containing a calming aroma, has a tearless formation, is hypo-allergenic and is also Consultant Dermatologist & Paediatrian approved. The liquid itself is a gorgeous purple colour and also has a very pleasant sniff to it.
Next bath time, I squeezed a generous blob from the bottle and ran my girls bath. The bubbles appeared straight away and were actually really impressive. The bath also had a lovely aroma which although I doubted would calm my excitable little monkeys... it certainly was lovely.
My girls were over the moon with their bath, they loved the bubbles and I have to say that I feel that this product stands alongside the Johnsons equivalent in terms of results with the added bonus that you have saved a few pennies. We are converted!
My bubba used to be an absolute nightmare at bedtime, she used to cry and wind herself up until she couldn't settle herself to sleep. Bath time and bedtime used to be the most stressful part of the day and I hated doing it by myself as I used to end up so stressed out by it all.
In the midst of my attempt at trying to find something to calm her, I discovered baby dreamtime bath in boots and decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, it worked wonders and had a great soothing and calming effect on both of us.
The product comes in a light purple coloured flip cap bottle and is shaped to be gripped onto as we all know how difficult it is whilst supporting a baby and opening a wet bottle one handed is, so the shape is well designed and the cap makes it easy to open. The bottle is made out of plastic and I'm not certain if it can be recycled but I don't have to worry about knocking it off the side of the bath as it is durable.
The soothing comes from the mixture of chamomile and lavender, both essential oils well known for their relaxing effects. I worry about my bubba's skin, especially when I use new products as she is very sensitive but I found it reassuring that it had been approved by both dermatologists and paediatricians and it was really gentle to her skin.
I really like the scent and have been known to sneakily use it in my bath. I find it very fresh but calming and not at all overwhelming like many bath products. I found my skin was a lot softer after my bath with it as I believe it has moisturising qualities as well to leave your baby's skin soft.
I find you only need to add a small amount to the bath as it lathers up really well and I can guarantee that it will last a long time.
I think it is a great product for pretty much anyone, it is kind to sensitive skin and really calms you.
The product is available from Boots costing £2.49 for 500ml, which I think is a good price as you can pay a lot more for soothing baby aimed products and I would definitely buy it again.
I have just started using boots own products for my son who is now 5 months old as they are on special offer at 5 for £5.00! Brilliant! His aunty bough them for me and i was badgering her to get him some of the johnsons night time baby bath but she suggested i try boots own! I am glad she did!

Overall this product is brilliant. I was originally using Johnsons baby bath but I have actually binned this after using boots own Dreamtime Bath. It doesnt dry my sons skin like Johnsons and it smells fantastic. I have even used it for myself as I have eczema and have had an outbreak recently and cannot use my usual raddox bubble bath and I havent even had a reaction to it which I usually do with every new product I use :)
A++++ as far as I can tell
What is it?
It is a mild bubble bath by Boots specially designed for babies with a fragrance designed to calm your little one in preparation for bedtime.
It comes in a wiggly edged translucent bottle with a flip top lid. The label has a cute picture of a baby. It states 'with calming aroma'. There is no mention of what aroma it is though.
What is it like?
It is quite watery and you need to add quite a bit to get a bath full of bubbles even when having a shallow bath. The liquid is a pleasant lilac colour and see-through. The aroma is very pleasant although I cannot say what it reminds me of and I am not sure how calming it is compared to other baby bubble baths.
Is it any good?
It bubbles up, it cleanses gently although I use soap or body wash too to make sure, it smells lovely. My son always relaxes and becomes very calm after a bath even without a calming variety but being just slightly nicer than their other bubble bath, I will probably continue to buy it.
Just one more thing...
I went to their website to read their information on it and it states that the aroma is of lavendar and chamomile. There is no mention of this on the packaging and the ingredients do not mention any aromatherapy oils. This leads me to believe that they recently changed the product but have not updated their website.
I'm a big fan of boots baby products and loved this product. My boy was quite a fussy sleeper at bedtimes so I thought about trying a bedtime bath. There are so many to choose from but I bought this one at the time as it was on offer(3 for 2).I'll cut to the chase. It did work.No he didn't flop off to sleep instantaneously, but it honestly relaxed him enough so that we didn't have to deal with lots of crying and stress at nights.Even now that my boy is older,I still keep it at hand when hes having an evening bath.Another plus to this product is that its exceptionally gentle so baby's eyes are protected and skin left super soft.I was also impressed with the aroma which is not one bit over powering. Makes baby smell a dream!I highly recommend it to new mums and those of us with fussy toddlers.Thankyou Boots!5 *****
My daughter is a year old and never been one for bedtime... that is until we discovered baby dreamtime bath, now I am not claiming that it is a miracle product that instantly made my daughter sleepy and drift of to the land of nod because that would be ridiculous, however I will say that it has great calming properties and would highly recommend it as part of your daily bath and bedtime routine.
The scent, The approval, and the no tears factor...
The soothing aroma comes from the lavender and chamomile, both of which are great for relaxing.
This wonderful bath wash is not only relaxing and great for calming little ones, it also has several other aspects to it that are appealing to me as a parent...it has been approved by dermatologists and paediatricians, is gentle on my little girls skin, and best of all when I accidently got it in her eyes there were no tears!
The colour and the packaging...
This product is a soft purple colour (which is calming enough in itself!), it comes in a handy bottle that features a flip cap rather than a fiddly screw top and is ideally shaped for gripping when wet!The bottle is made from plastic but doesn't state whether or not it is recyclable so if you are like me and a bit of an eco-friendly type then the best way to dispose of it is at your local plastic recycling facility.
Long lasting and not just for babies...
The scent as I have already mentioned is lovely, fresh and clean smelling. This product creates a lot of bubbles and you do not need to use a lot to clean your child(or yourself) so is likely to last quite a while.
Not only is this product great for little people it is also nice for bigger people! I will confess to using it myself, I couldn't resist after using it to bath my daughter, I thought it smelt wonderfully subtle and floral without being too babyish!
The result? I had an extremely relaxing bath that smelt wonderful and my skin was baby soft, moisturised and best of all I felt rather refreshed!
So there you have it an ideal product for parents and babies alike (despite the fact that it is sold as a baby bath!!!)
Other little bits, the cost and most importantly, where to buy it!...
This product is £ 2.49 for 500ml which I feel is a reasonable price for this product and would definitely purchase again. You can buy it online at www.boots.com or in boots stores.
You should not store it in direct sunlight. It is produced in the UK by The Boots Company Plc, Nottingham, England, NG2 3AA
