“ Brand: Boots / Type: Baby Lotion „
I use this everyday on a cotton pad to remove my make-up, except for my eyes. I have sensitive skin and have had reactions to using Johnson's baby lotion, as it is much more perfumed. The Boots version still smells 'like baby lotion', the smell/perfume isn't as strong - this might be a positive or negative depending on your use.
I have not had any reactions to using it on my face but would not use it on my eyes, as despite being described as gentle - it's not that gentle! I have also used it as a moisturiser when travelling, as is has a thin consistency and because of this it is easily absorbed and not greasy or sticky. However, I would not use it in place of a body lotion or moisturiser normally, as it does leave your skin feeling still a bit dry.
On the label, the baby lotion is described as hypoallergenic and I would recommend to people with sensitive skin as a reasonably priced way to remove skin make-up (foundation, blusher, concealer).
I do really love using Johnsons baby products (for myself not for a young baby!) to soften my skin and also to remove make up. However, when recently holiday shopping I came across this one in Boots. It is in very similar packaging to the Johnsons one, in a light pink bottle, but with indents up the sides, which allow for an easier grip of the bottle. In darker pink there is Boots and a small image, and then above this is there logo. there is some product information on the back of it.
The lotion is smooth and I find calms skin, so it is also good for sunburn (although I would recommend aftersun over this). As it is for babies it is safe to use on their skin, as well as sensitive skin. You can also use if on the face, and I sometimes use it for removing my mascara or eyeshadow. It makes my skin feel really clean and soft too. It acts as a good base for make up because it doesn't dry the skin out either. It can also be used on elbows to soften up. This is good after a bath or shower. It removes oils from the skin, and can be applied using cotton wool (which I what I usually use). It is also absorbed well into the skin.
This comes in a few different sizes, and is very cheap for how long it lasts.
300ml - £1.42
500ml - £1.83
I do recommend this product.
I bought this baby lotion for my little grandson for me to try for when he comes to stay for the weekend and it only cost me £1.79 for a 300ml bottle from boots and it is their own brand and I have never tried this one before until recently and I thought it was a very good price for a lower brand.
It comes in a nice size bottle and it has a really nice consistency and it is very soft and a very good quality, and it soaks into my grandsons skin beautifully and has left his skin nice and soft and the texture of it is nice and smooth and it is has a really nice fragrance to it and it does not irritate his delicate skin at all.
I have been using it also for removing some of my make up and I have found it to be nice and gently around the eye area and it has removed it perfectly and it has not irritated my skin at all and I have found it to be nice and gentle and I just wipe a little on the skin with a cotton bud and removed it gently.
I think it is a very good quality lotion for the low price and I have a little does go a very long way and I think it is just as good as the leading brands of lotions and I cannot tell the difference with this one at all.
It also soothes the skin and softens it and the fragrance is just right for a baby or young child and there is nothing better than smelling a baby when they have had a bath and have a baby lotion on their skin.
I have been using it as a body lotion for myself, along side my own products and I have found that after a shower it moisturises my skin beautifully and left it smooth and soft.
It is quite a thick lotion and is not runny at all, and it is easy to apply and it is easy to smooth into the skin with no problem at all.
I really like the fragrance to this lotion as it is not over powering and I highly recommend it for anyone to give it a try as I think you will not be disappointed and the quality is amazingly good.
I give it 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review.
Boots is a high street store and pharmacy. As well as selling the latest make up, body care and health items, they also have an extensive baby department. Here you will find the likes of Pampers, Huggies & Johnson's. You will also find Boots own branded baby products.
Here we have the Boots own branded Baby Lotion.
This lotion can be used by both bath and Mum. It is designed to gentle cleanse the babies skin to leave it soft and smooth. It is described as being mild and non greasy.
Aswell as moisturising the babies skin, it can also be used on a cotton bud to remove eye make-up.
The lotion is hypo-allergenic, approved by paediatricians and dermatologists. It is also ph balanced, clinically tested and does not contain any lanolin.
The lotion comes in a tall, chunky pink plastic bottle. The bottle has indents at the side for easy handling. The lotion is dispensed through a small hole under the flip top cap. The cap initially has a seal around it so you can rest assured no one has tampered with the bottle.
The information on the bottle is pretty basic and uncluttered. The Boots logo and producrt name are in dark pink on the front. On the back is the blurb about the lotion, ingredients and contact details for Boots.
The bottle can be recycled after use and once opened is safe to use for 12months.
To dispense, simply flip open the cap and slant the bottle. Give it a light squeeze and direct onto your hand or directly onto the babies body.
The lotion is quite thick and is white. It resembles suncream.
Aqua, paraffinum liquidum, hydrogenated vegetable glycerides citrate, carbomer, methylparaben, tetraodium EDTA, potassium hydroxide, parfum, 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1.3-diol, dipropylene glycol.

My son got most of his features from my partner. On,e thing other than his laugh that he got from me, is dry skin. I suffer badly with it on my arms and legs aswell as my face and therefore need to be careful what products I use. This is the same for my son. He has had dry skin on his legs and arms since he was a tiny baby. Now he is 2, it seems to bug him more. When he was born, I was nicely given lots of toiletries from Boots. I had a few bottles of this Baby Lotion and I have just finished the most recent one.
I trust Boots products just as much as I trust Johnson's. I have never had reason to complain so was confident we would get on well with this lotion. I tend to use this once m son has had his bath. He struggles so much in the bath and gets himself all worked up which is no good before bed. Once he is dried, I apply this to his legs and arms and we have a cuddle to relax him before getting into his PJs.
What I don't understand is why baby lotion bottles are nearly always pink and girly! Boys use it too! Apart from that the bottle is suitable and I am able to hold it comfortably whilst stopping the little monster from running away. The lotion is a good thickness and I feel thicker than Johnson's. The scent is subtle but it reminds me of a combination of suncream and talcum powder. It is pleasant.
Moisturising this into my sons body was straightforward. I put a small dollop on my hand and worked it into his wee chicken legs. The lotion was cool and smoothed on perfectly. It didn't take much effort to absorb and my hands and his legs did not feel sticky after application. This was the same with his arms. The lotion fully absorbs quickly and leaves skin soft to the touch and delicately scented. It doesn't detract from my sons natural baby scent in anyway.
I have used this on myself and most recently after getting really bad sunburn. I did not have any aftersun and needed something to cool my skin. The baby lotion worked a treat and took some of the heat and soreness from my skin. It is extremely gentle.
This currently on offer in Boots at 2 x 500ml bottles for £2.00 is an absolute steal as one bottle costs more than that! I will be getting down there tomorrow to buy some more. The lotion lasts quite a long time even with regular applications. Although the lotion is thick, a little goes a long way!
Thanks for reading x
Ok, I admit it. I'm a bit of a cheapskate. If I look at a shelf and see a branded product sitting beside a store's own version of a product I will always give the own brand a try. If it's just as good as the real version I've saved myself money because I'll tend to buy the product again in the future, if it doesn't work as well it's not a major dent in my finances.
I tend to use quite a few of Boots own brand products, because they're a big company, and they're very good. This product is no exception. It's just as good as the leading product, does the same job, smells the same, and the lotions look identical. The only difference is the price really. In fact, I'd challenge anyone to tell the two apart.
My skin is sensitive and in the past I have had reactions to some products, but because the lotion is hypo-allergenic I haven't had any problems, which is particularly important as I use this product as a cleanser and to remove my eye makeup. It's perfect for this job because not only does it remove the make up, it moisturises at the same time, leaving your skin feeling soft. What's more it smells nice and powdery and doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky. It's also great for moisturizing your legs.
And whilst I haven't used it on children myself, my sister uses it on her two kids, and loves it.
So all in all, this product is as good as Johnston's, plus you'll save yourself about 50p a go.
I am quite a big user of Boots own brand products, and this is another one of their vast range that I happily use.
I first bought their own brand baby lotion when I was having a bit of a poor week and wanted to save some money on the things I usually buy, and this is about 50p cheaper than the leading brand, so thought it was worth a try, and if it wasn't as great, at least I would know not to buy it again.
I was actually quite pleased with this baby lotion. It comes in the same size bottles as the leading brand, and costs a little bit less. I think that both the own brand and the leading brand baby lotions smell exactly the same, and I am yet to notice a difference in the actual lotion itself. They both have the same consistency, and they both seem to soak into the skin at the same rate. If I didn't know any better, I would say that both lotions were exactly the same product.
I know that some people do not like to use own brand products from anywhere, but if you are ok with using them, then this is one of those that you should definatley give a go, as I find it to be exactly the same as the leading product, and there is definalty no difference in how my skin feels and reacts to it. This costs less than the leading brand and is available in all Boots stores, so why not give it a go?
It's not very often I pamper myself but I do have strict routines when it comes to my face and removing make up. It's nothing expensive or extravagant but it's something I've always done I tend to use a Johnsons baby wipe to remove make up and then dollop a bit of baby lotion on a cotton wool pad to remove the excess grime. It's usually Johnsons baby lotion I use but in a bid to save a few pennies I decided to try out Boots Baby lotion, especially as I already use a few of their own products and quite like them.
Boots baby lotion comes in a 500ml curvy bottle with a baby pink plastic flip top lid. The front of the clear plastic bottle has the Boots logo printed at the top and it clearly tells us this is Baby Lotion in a baby pink font. It also tells us that this is consultant dermatologist and paediatrician approved as well as being hypo-allergenic.
The first thing to mention about this baby lotion is it squirts out quite fast, it's thin but not overly so it just squeezes out with ease thats all. It is pure white in colour, although it could be mistaken for being baby pink from the outside of the bottle as the bottle has a baby pink shade to it and it has a stunningly gentle fragance to it, refreshing and clean yet not perfumed and musky like some creams can be. It rubs into skin beautifully, it glides and smooth all over your skin, no matter what body part you use it on, making it a brilliant lotion for massage purposes. I always used to use it to massage into my twins skin when they were younger as they were prone to getting dry skin and this would moisturise their skin perfectly as well as calm then before bedtime thanks to my wonderful massaging skills lol. I even use it on my boys now who are 2, especially on one of them as he suffers with dry skin terrible and this is mild and gentle enough to help moisturise his skin without irritating it or flaring it up. When using the lotion I find it absorbs into mine, and their skin fairly quickly and our skin begins to soften almost instantly.
When using it to remove my make up, I even find it's gentle enough to use around my eyes, causing no irration to my eyes or skin and it not only removes make up but grime to as I can see the results on the cotton wool pad. Not only does it remove the impurities from my face but it moisturises at the same leaving my skin feeling baby soft, without any greasyness as well as leaving it's gentle fragrance for my nose to enjoy.
I often suffer from dry cracked heels and rather than fork out on 'special' creams that are meant just for this problem which half the time don't even work I tend to massage my feet in boots baby lotion, which helps soften my skin and gradually reduces the hard, flaky skin to. The only reason it comes back is because I become lazy and stop applying the lotion to my feet so it is my fault really for not looking after them.
Thanks to it's mild formula, this is perfect to use on 'some' rashes, even after shaving. My skin is prone to becoming dry and break out in little rashes after shaving sometimes and this is gentle enough to rub into my skin, without it hurting or leaving it sore and it clears up the dry patches to. I suffer from a terrible, itchy heat rash every year to, even when it's not hot, It's already starting to flare up and it's only ever on my hands where everybody can see. It's hard not to scratch it though leaving it looking and feeling worse, little red bumps all over my hands which the doctor just tells me to 'leave alone it'll go in time' easier said than done though so I quite often use this to massage into my itchy hands to ease the itching and the soreness from where I've already scratched.
I swear by this lotion it has so many uses, and not just for babies. It smells beautiful - although if a man was to use it I don't think they'd appreciate using it if they were about to go out somewhere as there isn't a very masculine scent to it. I'd definitely reccomend it to anybody suffering from dry skin or just looking to moisturise it.
Baby lotion is a wonderful product - I've used it from the day my daughter was born, not just on her skin, but for myself as well .
Especially after a long hot bath, my skin tends to dry out . While, like any other girl, I have a bathroom full of lotions and potions designed to moisturise various bits of me, a lot of them take time and effort to apply, or were expensive and thus regarded as 'special occasion' lotions
Baby lotion though is great for everyday usage - not just because it's designed for young skin, and thus very gentle, but also because it's incredibly cheap, less than £2.50 for a 500ml bottle (and sometimes included in multibuy deals)>
It comes in a pink bottle with a squirty nozzle, enabling you to squirt a blob into your palm without making a mess, or of course directly onto your skin . It has a very mild scent, not something easy to describe, just a smell I always associate with a freshly bathed baby . It spread and absorbs easily, and I find I don't need a huge amount to cover my whole body . It doesn't leave me with any greasy residue either, and that lovely fresh clean scent lingers (although it isn't strong, you could wear a light scent over it while going out quite easily).
I also use it to lubricate my legs when shaving - just a tiny amount softens the skin making it easier to glide the razor over my monkey legs without ripping the hairs out brutally or tearing the skin .
I've used this also on my daughter since she was tiny - always a little goes on just after a bath . I also find a little squirt on a cotton wool bud removes chocolate from around her mouth, so I've decanted some into a smaller handbag for messy situations -that I also use to remove my own makeup!
One other great thing I've noticed with baby lotion is that, if my tights are a little staticy after coming out of the tumble dryer , if I put them on,then moisturise my hands with the lotion, and then rub my hands down my legs, the static vanishes - quite nifty when I want my skirt to sit correctly and not cling to my tights .
Baby lotion is definitely a product I'd recommend to any parent of young children, or indeed to anyone with sensitive skin who needs a little extra moisture . I always buy from Boots as I find this brand in particular spreads and absorbs well.
Definitely recommended .
I have very dry skin. After I have a bath or a shower it feels and looks horrible. I require a moisturiser which is non greasy, not too thick, quick to apply, and does not smell too strongly (as I'm male, and don't really want to smell like perfume). I have tried numerous moisturisers and I have found boots baby lotion to be the best.
At boots at the moment it costs £2.14 for a 500ml bottle. This is well worth the money as you only ever need to use a small amount, so it will last a long time.
The product is packaged in a pink plastic bottle with an effective nozzle at the top which leaves little mess. The nozzle is also useful if you want to transfer some of the lotion to a smaller bottle (to be put in a travel bag for example) as you will not spill any.
The smell of the lotion is quite pleasant and not too strong. When wearing aftershave my girlfriend cannot smell the lotion at all (which is a good thing). It is best applied to warm skin so that it is easily absorbed, and I find that it sooths my skin and leave it feeling nice.
The only problem that I have with it is that after a few hours it can start to feel slightly greasy, but this is barely noticeable.
This product is also good a taking care of a baby or small child's skin. Since I don't have any children I cannot comment on how effective it is on children's skin.
Overall it is a good product that is suitable for both men and women as well as children.
Boots Baby Lotion
This is a moisturising lotion specially formulated to be mild enough for even babies skin. The lotion is part of a range that includes Baby Talc, Baby Bath, Baby Oil and Baby Soap. The lotion is available in 500ml bottles and cost approx £2.
The lotion is well packaged in a nice pink well designed bottle. The bottle has a flip cap that allows the liquid to be easily dispensed with no mess. I have used an entire bottle and not had to clean the lid once.
The lotion has a fragrant and almost powdery smell that fades slighly when applied to the skin. I think this baby lotion smells far better than other more well known brands which can be a bit overpowering.
I have used the lotion on my own and on my childrens skin and have found it to be be really good. To use you simply apply the lotion liberally to the skin and rub in well. It left my and my kids skins very soft and smelling great. With prolonged use I found even better effects.
A good Body Lotion
This stuff is amazing! Seriously, If you haven't tried it get some!
I am a guy, and I use it on myself, I have no baby but I do get horrible dry skin at the base of my hands, or at least I did untill I discovered Baby lotion!
I was in a supermarket and my hands were especially rough and itchy. I was looking for some E45 hand lotion but they had sold out. I thought to myself "Their must be something I can use" and thought how baby products would be the only other thing that would be sensitive enough, I then laughed at my self for a moment, then thought "Why not?".
At first I used Johnsons baby lotion, but to be honest the smell can be a little overpowering, especially if you are a guy, not to mention unmistakable. So i needed an alternative. I tried many other own brands but felt them to leave my hands greasy, It wasn't untill I met a friend of mine with her newborn and told her my dilemma that she recomended Boots Baby lotion. She gave me the bottle she had under the pram since their was only a little left and she was going to get more.
It was perfect, dried in almost instantly, left a clean but not to "babyish" smell that soon fades. and at just over £2 for 500ml! you can't go wrong.
After using it on my hands for several months and still having LOADS left I started using it on my face after I had shaved, it soothed the skin better than any balm I had used, and recently I was told my face had a "glow" to it. Was this the lotion? I have no idea.
Also sometimes when ladies shake my hand they comment on how soft my hands are "For a mans".
I have only 2 friends who know my secret, one is the Friend that introduced me to the product, and the other is a work collegue, who has started using it on his FEET of all places to combat hard skin! He says its working!!! I must give it a go.
Mum shouts at me " Daphney, Daphney it's time to get up, your going to be late for school!" "dam, what time is it?" "it's 8 o'clock, now hurry up" replies my mum. My mom walks out from my room and i get dressed and ready for school, i get my cotton wool and my brand new Baby lotion, okso yeah its for babys as it says but as i go school for the hole day, I wanna look my best as i can for a good reputation. I dont wanna look and act like a baby but i just wanna feel gentle like a Babys bottom, now if you get anyother product which is babylotion, nothing will feel better that the johnson Baby lotion. with this product you can get the good value out of out of baby johnson that you wouldnt get out from anyother lotion and it wont feel the same as johnsons one.
