Advantages: It's cheaper than other brands yet works beautifully!

Disadvantages: A little thinner than Johnsons perhaps?

I have always used baby powder, on myself as well as my twins and all my family use it too, we've always stuck to Johnson's but in a bid to save the pennies as much as poss this is one of the many products I've lowered in brand. I quite like most of Boots own products though so decided to try their very own Baby Powder.

Boots Baby Powder costs roughly £1.26 for a 500g white plastic bottle, but it is more often than not on offer buy one get one free and I also get my advantage card points too.

The baby powder as I've said comes in a white plastic bottle, very similar to Johnsons but a little wider and it has wavy curves either side. It clearly shows the Boots logo at the top of the bottle and tells us in pink writing it's Baby Powder. On the front of the bottle it also tells us it's 'Consultant Dermatologist & Paediatrician Approved and Hypo-Allergenic.

The back of the bottle informs us that Boots extra absorbent baby powder is ideal for use after bathing to ensure your baby's skin is left thoroughly dry. It can also be used after nappy changing to create a smooth, friction free layer to help reduce the effect of chaffing.

Boots Baby powder is just the same as Johnson's powder being a white powder that sprinkles or pours out depending on how wide you have the screw open top which unveils smaller holes. This powder to me though does seem a little 'thinner' if that makes sense, what makes me think this is when pouring it it does create quite alot of misty clouds and puffs of air whereas I don't get quite so much from Johnsons. It also creates a white, powdery foam around my bathroom ALL of the time and it lands absolutely everywhere, whereas the heavier and thicker johnsons powder only seems to land on the floor, in one place.

Despite me thinking it's thinner though I use it the same way I use Johnson's powder and it does exactly the same job. As I am a larger girl I do suffer tremendously, especially in the hot summer, well I was going to say months but it's more like days, with chaffing in between my thighs. By sprinkling and rubbing a bit of this powder in between my thighs it does provide a smooth layer that stops my thighs from rubbing so vigorously and prevents any nasty rashes from appearing as well as allowing alot of pain relief as it can be quite painful.

I also use it, the same as Johnsons, on myself and my twin boys after the bath to ensure we are dry as well as making sure their bums are really dry so not to cause nappy rashes. It smooths onto my skin lovely and has a gentle, baby clean soft scent. It seems gentle to all our bodies and doesn't irritate nor affect any of us and leaves us smelling subtly clean and beautifully fresh too.

After watching my mum use a little talc in her hair when it got greasy too I decided to try this useful tip myself, it worked with Johnsons as a quick morning fix on the 5th day of no hair washing so decided to try Boots powder too and I must say this also provides a quick greaseless hair effect when need be.

I'd recommened this to absolutely anybody, especially when it's offer I personally feel it's definitely worth the money, and buying this you could be saving a few pennies too!

Summary: A powder well worth the money!
