~~Boots baby powder~~
I normally buy branded products when it comes to things for our baby; however I had heard lots of good reviews about this product and seen as though I get all my toiletries from Boots and have them shipped to Cyprus I thought I would give this product a go. My little boy is not due yet for another 7 weeks, but I have found that thanks to pregnancy and the hot climate in Cyprus I have found myself using a product I would never normally bother with. I suffer from bad heat rashes which cause dry irritated patches on my skin, I remembered that I purchased a couple of bottles and thought I would try to see if it improved my rather irritating problem. I was amazed with the results, the rashes cleared within a couple of days and the sweating had also reduced considerably. I was also shocked by the fact I did not have any form of allergic reaction as I have such sensitive skin, sometimes the most gentle of products irritates my skin. I therefore feel confident in using this product on my son when he is born. My husband has also found another use for this versatile product, due to his work he has to wear boots for extended periods of time which cause havoc on his feet, he now applies the powder to his feet in the morning and has found that his feet have become less sore and the skin has not broken or blistered as much as usual. This has been a great find as it now saves us a lot of money as he can use this instead of the ridiculously priced specialist foot powder which he used to buy.
The packaging is plain and simple but I wouldn't expect much for what the product is. The powder comes in a 500g bottle with a good turn shaker top in which the product is dispensed from. A word of warning be careful when using this as it can come out extremely fast. The label of the bottle contains a picture of a baby and the brand name and product name, from the label you are also told that the product is hypo-allergenic and has been approved by a consultant dermatologist and paediatrician I think this is great as you can be confident that the product is safe for your little prince or princess to use. On the rear of the bottle is more information, the product has been clinically tested, and Lanolin free. The direction for use is to sprinkle the powder on to your hands and smooth gently into the skin. The product has a 12 month use by and is produced in the UK. The ingredients in this product are Talc, Zea mays (corn), Parfum (fragrance0, and Dipropylene glycol. The fragrance of the baby powder is mild and would not overwhelm a young child; the scent fades after a short period of time, but is the smell most people attribute as being the "new baby smell".
This product is available in Boots stores nationwide and also on their website; the price on their website for this product is currently £1.59 for a 500g bottle or £0.85 for a 200g bottle.
Summary: A great baby powder, with more than one use
