Advantages: Smells lovely, Does the job
Disadvantages: Dust!
I love the smell of babies! Before I go any further into my opinion I'd better qualify that comment. What I actually mean is I love that lovely clean smell when they've just been bathed, powdered and changed, not the 'before' smell, about which I won't detail in case you're getting ready to eat! So, taking this into account, it isn't difficult to see why I love to use baby powder. I usually use Johnsons Baby Powder, but Boots own brand was on offer recently at 3 for the price of two so I decided to try it and I was very impressed. I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as good as Johnsons but I was wrong. It worked just as well, it felt just as nice and had a different but equally pleasing fragrance. I use talcum powder after bathing to make sure that all my nooks and crannies are nice and dry - I'm not going to go into too much detail about that here either - you'll have to use your imagination if you're brave enough! Seriously though one thing I do find is that, being 'well endowed' if you know what I mean, I sometimes get a heat rash under my bust and that talcum powder helps to keep me dry and thus helps to alleviate the problem. All I have to do is sprinkle some on my hands and smooth it onto my skin to stop the friction that causes the chafing. I have tried other, perfumed, talcum powders but find that they do tend to irritate me so baby powder is ideal. Boots own brand does the job just as well as Johnsons and it smells lovely. Another thing I occasionally used to use baby powder for is in my hair. Ah ha how many of you have tried this one I wonder? Sometimes I have real problems with pains in my back. This may not seem relevant to this opinion but bear with me on this one. When I am suffering with this I can't bend over the sink to wash my hair. If it gets to look a bit greasy I found that brushing some baby powder through it help
ed to dry the greasiness until I was able to wash it again. Thankfully I now have a shower so that particular problem troubles me no more! Obviously it is perfect to use on your baby and is even mild enough for new born babies. It will help to keep baby's nether regions dry and help to reduce the instances of nappy rash. It comes in various sizes as you would expect 100g, 250g and 500g but I can't remember the price and when I looked on the Boots websie to check the only price they had was 100g for £1.85 which sounds too high from my memory. I'll try and remember to check it out when I'm in town and come back and update this opinion. I always find that the talcum powder together with one or two of the other items in the range make for a nice present for the new baby or for mom to be. I do like practical presents you see. The only real problem that I find is the layer of talcum powder that accumulates on everything in the bathroom necessitating regular cleaning - bother! - I knew there'd be a catch!
