Advantages: Keeps skin smooth and soft, good price

Disadvantages: Toddler seems to think it's tasty

This is a product I have regularly used on my son since he was around one year old (he's now two). I noticed at that age he was starting to get some dry flaky skin. I was using then Johnson's baby oil gel, and I think the perfume in that was making his skin worse.

I had a look around boots and found all the usual suspects for problem skin, such as oilatum, but they seemed quite expensive. I found boots own brand did a sensitive skin range, so I bought the body wash and this product 'expert baby sensitive moisturising cream'.

The one I have isn't the same packaging as in the picture shown above, so I wonder if they have changed their packaging. Mine is in a tube with a blue cap at the bottom, and has a picture of a cute baby sitting with his little bum facing you! It is described as dermatologist and paediatrician approved, perfect for newborns and for use on dry skin and even eczema. The tube contains 100ml and has a shelf life of 12 months.

I use this cream on my son just after he has a bath, and his skin has much improved since we started with it. The cream is white and fragrance free, and not too thick so it smooths in nicely. The only problem is, he likes to try and eat it (he does this with sudocrem too), perhaps I just have a strange child! It is formulated to be non-greasy and easily absorbed and I definitely find it is. Much less messy than oil based products.

I will definitely continue to use this, as I find it works effectively at keeping my little boy's skin from getting dry and itchy and it is good value for money. It's £2.44 per tube, and currently on offer at buy 1 get 1 half price. Boots often have good money saving deals like this on their products. You don't need much per use and even if you used it every day, I expect a tube would last around a month for one child.

Summary: A good choice for dry skin and not too expensive
