Advantages: Real value for money

Disadvantages: It's quality has been down-graded once...could happen again...

If I had written this review last week, I would have given Boots soft cloth wipes 5 stars. For the past few years now, I'd go down to Boots, once every so often and buy a whole load of these wipes to stock-up on. However, after yesterday's batch of wipes that I purchased, I feel I will no longer be doing this. I was extremely shocked at the down grade in the quality of the wipes!

I remember the Boots soft cloth wipes to be thick, slightly textured and large enough to carry out the tasks they are designed for. But when I pulled out a pop-up wipe from the pack I bought recently, this was no longer the description that fit it. Instead, it seemed like each wipe had been carefully sliced down, so that two wipes were now needed where one would have been sufficient before. The wipes also seemed to have shrunk in size.

Having said all this, I don't want you to get the impression that the wipes are not worth buying. They are still a product that's good value for money. It's just that they used to be in line with the premium stuff- quality wise at the price of an own brand. But now you get the quality you pay for, which is still not that bad considering some really cheap and nasyy wipes out there!

A pack of 72 wipes is retailed at £1.99. However it is always on some sort of offer such as, 'Buy on get one free' or '3 for £3' so you are only paying around a pound for a pack. This I think is fantastic value, even now with the dip in it's quality.

I always purchase the fragrance-free version of these wipes which are still infused with a pleasant amount of lotion. The wipes claim to help prevent the causes of nappy rash and after using them I find the claim totally believable. The Boots soft cloth wipes are also approved by a Consultant Dermatologist and a Paediatrician, which seems impressive.

Summary: A quid for a pack of 72! You really can't go wrong!
