Advantages: Multi use, often on offer.

Disadvantages: none

With my two children now in their teens, my need to buy "baby" products is some way in the distant past. No longer do I have to compare nappy brands, or puree baby foods, and although my two can still give an excellent demonstration of a toddler-tantrum, we have moved away from the baby aisle in Boots and Tescos.

But despite our ageing years, I still have a constant demand for Baby wipes....and these Boots Soft cloth ones are my wipe of choice, and have been for some time (partly because they are almost always on BOGOF or 3 for 2 in Boots stores!).

So, what do I use them for? Well, for a start - it is always useful to have a wipe available on car journeys. Whether you are stopping for a Macdonalds on the way, or just having a fight with a sticky boiled sweet that won't release itself from its plastic wrapper, hands can always do with a clean up, and whilst Macdonalds offer you a serviette, that isn't going to do the same cleaning job as a wet wipe!

Public loos - whenever you visit a public loo, there is a reasonable chance of their not being any loo paper, or soap, or paper towels, or all three - especially if you are visiting a portaloo at an event such as the London Marathon, the Race for Life or one of the summer festivals......so, a packet of baby wipes comes in mighty handy in order that you can avoid that "Ewww" moment when going about your business.

I keep a packet in my desk draw at work for those many times when I am eating my lunch at my desk and drop food on my suit.....babywipes get anything out of anything in my experience. Also, if I get a bit whiffy in the armpit department, I can have a bit of a clean and freshen up quite easily!

....try them on your carpet too. I remember when I used to spill formula milk on my carpet, when the children were babies - a quick scrub with a baby wipe would get it out when other methods failed miserably!

I am a reflexologist, although I do it more now for a hobby than anything now, but even when people have given their feet a good wash before they come to see me, the chances are that they could do with a bit of a freshen up before I work on them. A quick wipe with a baby wipe for each foot means that the whole experience is a lot less embarrassing for the client.....one of the first things they generally say is "I'm sorry about the state of my feet" regardless of how clean they are! Of course, some people turn up having not shown their feet any soap or water for some considerable time.....they need more than one wipe per foot!

So, why Boots wipes in particular?

Well, as mentioned above, they are almost always on offer at Boots, making them much cheaper than branded versions.

I like the gently fragranced option - whilst I liked the "fragrance free" versions for my babies, to keep things as neutral as possible, this fragranced version is a mild fragrance which actually smells quite fresh and clean, and less "clinical" than some.

They are "cloth" based not "paper" based, and as such are incredibly strong. Given that we are dealing with teenagers now, strength is paramount, and the last thing I want is to have scrappy torn bits of wet paper towel all over the car......

They are a good size - one wipe does a pair of grubby hands nicely, and I generally use one on each foot when doing reflexology without feeling that I am scrimping!

The packet, like many, comes with a dispenser on top, but unlike some, has a protective plastic "lid" which really helps when the peel back sticky bit loses its stick. This means that my pack of wipes stays moist and fresh however long they are kicking about the car for!

In the summer.....why not try keeping a pack in the fridge - this makes a lovely refreshing facial wipe when you are feeling a bit sticky!

Summary: Pick up a pack or two today!

They're great for cleaning window ledges, and cleaning little stains off of wood laminate floors.
