Cheaper better bum care! (Boots Baby Wipes)

Advantages: large area to the wip, not too heavy fragrance, effectively cleans bottoms and a multitude of other things

For nigh on two and half years I have been using baby wipes, there is a huge seletion of wipes out there Pampers, Johnsons, stores own etc all screaming for your attention. It can be a minefield as some of them are really substandard.

I have found through extensive use, the two best on the market well in my opinion anyway!

Boots own High performance soft cloth wipes with baby lotion. These are a great and cheaper alternative to Pampers (green packet).

The Boots wipes claim to prevent the causes of nappy rash - great stuff but does it work? Well in my opinion, yes it does, James never had nappy rash due to using these wipes plus they did not exacerbate the problem if he has any kind of nappy rash due to being ill, teething etc.

The wipes come in a reasealable grean package, containing 80 wipes for £1.99. At the side of Pampers wipes, which come in a very similar package containing 72 wipes for £2.99. Boots win on that score, more wipes for less cash!

Size of wipes - both Pampers and Boots wipes are the same size.

Texture of the wipe - they both 'feel' like real cloths, sort of like J cloth material, very soft but they dont rip, nor do your fingers poke through when using them! (this is a very big bonus point!)

Wetness of the wipes - I would say the Boots wipes are a little damper than pampers, but not significantly so, damp enough to remove faecal matter from bums and to clean sticky fingers and faces. Now Boots wipes do contains alcohol, don't get too excited, but this helps the skin to 'dry' off after wiping. THis is domething that new pampers does not have, the skin tends to take that little bit longer to dry.

Fragrance - with Pampers you do get a lovely fragranced wipe, although it is quite strong, especially as you get to the end of the packet. The Boots wipe, although fragranced it is definately not as strong, but pleasant all the same.

Usage - do they work?

Wipes can be used for a multitude of tasks, from nappy changing time, to wiping mucky faces. Both wipes perform these tasks excellantly and very efficiently removing all traces of urine and faeces on bottoms, leaving behind a healthy looking soft skin.

Other uses can include, wiping down paint work when cleaning, or dusting, leaves behind a lovely fragrance and removes the dust rather than just moving it about, also good for cleaning the car inside. Place one wipe in the tumble dryer to fragrance and soften clothes (not as effective as Bounce but good if you run out). A quick refreshing face wipe on hot sticky days, when soap and water are not easily accessible i.e the beach.

All in all Boots wipes are the best of the cheaper wipes on the market, in addition to which they are often on the 3 for 2 offer shelves at Boots.
