I don't think there is a house hold in the UK that doesn't have a tub of cotton buds, they are just one of the essential things of life these days.

I used to use one of the leading brands cotton buds, but I one day tried Boots own brand, when I was trying to save some money on the things I had to buy. I have no problem with using own brand products, so I happily bought these for about 50p less than I would usually pay for the leading brand.

I use cotton buds mainly for ear wax removal and make up tidying, especially eyeliner. I never noticed any difference between these cotton buds and the ones made by the leading brand. They removed make up from my face with no problems, and easily removed ear wax and they have never made my ears or skin sore when I have used them.

The Boots own brand cotton buds are the same size and thickness as the leading brand, and they appear to have the same amount of cotton on each end, so personally I see no reason not to use them, as they do the exact same job and they cost less.

You can buy these in all Boots stores for less than £2 a tub of 200, and they last for ages, so why not buy some? If you want to save some money on essential items, this is a great start to that.
