Advantages: generous size, mostly hold mess well for short periods
Disadvantages: not great economy after all, not suitable for overnight. the RUSTLE!!
I am quite fickle with all products I use unless I find something fantastic that I love too much to change. Nappies are no different - I just go for the most economical deal!! I tend to buy nappies in bulk as they are expensive items as it is without messing around buying a small pack very regularly. I had tried Pampers, Huggies, Boots, Tesco and Asda nappies and they are all quite different.
I bought the Boots nappies to take over to France last month, when I only wanted a small amount just for a week but wanted them in a sealed sleeve (I didn't want loose nappies all over my suitcase!) so I picked up these on a multibuy offer. They were two packs for £8 and were the most economical at the time, which was the main reason for buying; also because I needed something to top up my spend to get lots of extra advantage card points - which I did. I ended up with nearly £9 worth of points that visit so effectively I could get the same deal of nappies for free!!
Anyway, I digress.
We are currently using size 4 nappies of our precious mans precious bottom. The size 4 come in a pack of either 34 or 36 (sorry can not remember exactly) and as I say were on offer at 2 for £8.
The design of the nappy is white with pale green random patterns on and small picture of a cartoon animal on the front. The sticky tabs are folded in on themselves two or three times, giving plenty of room for stretch. They do seem generous for a size 4!.
As soon as I took these nappies out of the plastic packet I noticed a rustling sound and this is very noticeable when Jake is wearing the nappy alone or with a vest or loose fitting bottoms, but not so noticable with his 'proper' clothes on. However this really puts me off, so I tend
to now use them at home only (one sleeve stayed here and one went to France in case you were wondering - nappies are double the price over there!!) as I don't want a rustly bummed boy.
They cope pretty well with messy poos - no leakages witnessed and are okay most of the time with wee. Sadly I do find that if Jake wears one of these overnight he is pretty much drenched in the morning. I don't think they tolerate 12 hours wearing very well at all.
Overall they are okay, but I would prefer to avoid these in the future and go for Tesco or Asda own brands or Pampers.
Summary: unless my preferred brands go bust I shall not be buying these again
