Advantages: I recommend Boots Super Dry nappies

Disadvantages: I don't recommend Boots newborn nappies

When my baby was first born I was given a number of packs of Boots Newborn Nappies from a generous family member.

The nappies came in a yellow plastic packaging with a cute, newborn baby on the front. They were suitable for babies between 4-11lbs (my baby was around 8lbs at the time) and contained 24 nappies per pack.

I thought they would be quite good because Boots are a brand I generally trust, but sadly I was wrong.

If my baby did a wee that was left for more than half an hour (if she was asleep for example), it would leak through the nappy.

Also, as most people know newborns have very runny stools so everytime she did a poo it would leak out of the top and sides of her nappy and ruin her clothes and bedding.

Being a new first time mum I actually got quite upset about it because I thought I was doing something wrong, but before long I switched brands and had no further problems. After using my first pack of Boots Newborn Nappies I thought I had been given a bad batch but I soon realised that all of the packs were the same.

To top it off the sticky tabs snapped off about 8 seperate nappies whilst I was fastening them, which means I had to throw away around 8 brand new nappies.

On the upside the nappies were usually quite easy to fasten and seemed to fit quite well around the legs - not too tight that they dug in and not too loose that they became baggy. I recall they had a nice elephant design on too.

Boots Newborn Nappies are really reasonably priced (bordering on very cheap) at just £2.49 per pack. Not to mention the Advantage Card points and regular offers they have on.

Overall Boots Newborn Nappies didn't work for me but that's not to say they wont work for everybody (I read a couple of positive reviews on the website).

After my baby had outgrown newborn nappies I decided to give Boots Super Dry nappies a try and was very pleased with their performance - no leaks and very absorbent. They were also very easy to fasten, fitted well (nice stretchy waistband), were easy to change and of course had cute designs on.

Boots Super Dry nappies come in a green, plastic packaging and in a range of different sizes (9lbs - 35+ lbs). The amount of nappies in each pack varies depending on their size (the bigger the size, the less nappies you get in a pack) but you can look at paying £3.99 for a pack of around 32 nappies or £6.99 for a pack of around 54 nappies. They are very well priced in my opinion, especially compared to leading nappy brands.

My overall verdict is:
Yes to Boots Super Dry nappies but no to Boots Newborn nappies.

Summary: My experience of Boots nappies.

I would have complained to Boots about the nappies with the faulty tabs - I did that with Pampers when I had the same problem and got sent a £5 voucher by customer services! x
