Advantages: Free with Boots Parenting Club

Disadvantages: Dull and unappealling

I received this bag free with Boots Parenting club when (I think) I bought some disposable nappies. It says the bag retails at £29.99 but if anyone paid that for this bag then they would be completely bonkers.

As changing bags go, it's pretty basic (I should know I've been through a fair few). The material is a cheap thin canvassy type material, pretty low budget if you ask me, and it's not waterproof, in my experience.

It's basically a shoulder bag with a few extra pockets. On the outside are two small flap pockets that close with magnetic catches. These are handy for storing small items such as tissues, breast pads, keys, dummies, snacks, small toys etc.

Inside the bag is an insulated bottle holder which fastens with a string & toggle to keep your bottle safe. This is large enough to contain a 9oz Avent bottle. But if you are going out for the day then you are going to need a separate bottle holder for your other bottles, but still, this pocket is handy.

Also inside the bag is a zipped mesh compartment which is large enough to hold wipes or a few disposable nappies. Then on the opposite side are two small pouches, one is mobile phone size and the other is a bit bigger, I suppose for your purse (but my purse is huge so it would never fit in this bit).

Then you obviously get your main compartment, which to be honest is not very large. Once you have filled the pockets with wipes, nappies and your bottle then that perhaps leaves space enough for a change of clothes for your baby and perhaps a couple of other items.

The main compartment is sealed with a zip.

The shoulder strap is long and has quite a large adjustment, so if you hang it over your pushchair handles then you can adjust it to your perferred height.

As bags go this is not so bad. I was actually going to slag it off completely but as I have been writing about it's features I have begun to realise that it's not all that bad. For a quick trip out with your child it would serve it's purpose well enough, managing to hold all those essential items.

I just found it dull and unappealling, and really not to my taste, but I suppose you can't expect much more from a freebie. I'm not sure it would last the required lifetime of a changing bag because of the cheap material, but it would do as a stop gap until you find yourself that perfect bag.

Don't ever ever pay for this bag.

Summary: It's a black bag

Your review is spot on! I've been using mine for nearly a year now. I really need to treat myself to a new one.

The current Pampers freebie is much more attractive than the old Huggies version! Handy as a standby bag and even better for being free x
