Whilst perusing the shelves of my local boots I came across this bath foam on offer and thought i'd give it a try for both my son and I. The bath foam costs £3.05 when not on offer but Boots are currently running an offer of 2 for £4 which a decent saving.
The bottle contains 300ml of a pale clear yellow gel which possesses a gentle floral scent and is very runny. The label boasts that the product contains plant extracts that really work which I personally believe is a meaningless statement as there are very few toiletries that don't contain plant extracts or contain plant extracts that don't work be it as a thickener, stabiliser or something else. The bath foam is said to contain both Calendula and Linden Flower which are said to 'protect and soothe' and there is some basis for this statement as Calendula is a mild antiseptic and Linden Flower is topically used for pruritus.
I have used this product on myself as I always trial products prior to using them on my son and found that this product was an effective cleanser of the skin but offers little in way of moisturisation and should be used sparingly and only on normal/greasy skin - Not suitable for delicate baby skin. For this reason I will not purchase this product again as the other negative is that if you get any in your eyes it stings like a *******! which is pretty useless for a baby bath as they are constantly splashing, rubbing their eyes and problems like stinging eyes can make the whole bath process a nightmare as the child will remember the pain and be scared of future baths. I tried this foam bath twice and will only use it when I run out of my other bath product but I have to make sure I have a heavy body moisturiser to hand as it is so drying.
I personally wouldn't recommend this product for the purpose it is intended as it is too astringent and would only suggest that it is suitable for greasy/normal skin that needs a good cleanse.
