Advantages: it actually works, it has a lovely smell
Disadvantages: if your looking for a quick fix solution this is not recommended
Both my children suffered with cradle cap but it wasn't until i had my second son that i discovered Dentinox Cradle Cap Treatment Shampoo. Cradle cap is regarded as a form of seborrhoeic dermatitis which appears as scaly patches on the scalp. This can cause the scalp to become itchy and flaky and dry. This is nothing that should cause concern as it is not a serious condition, it can just look a bit unslightly if your baby has not got enough hair to cover it.
The box is green and white, it has a picture of a baby on the front. The Dentinox logo is in black writing along the top of the box. The actual shampoo bottle is very simple. It is white with a flip lid and all the writing on the bottle is green. I bought this about a year ago so i think the packaging has since been updated. The bottle holds 125ml of shampoo and like i said i have had this about a year and im only just coming to the bottom of the bottle.
The actual shampoo is clear in colour. It is quite thick in consistency and goes a very long way so not a lot is needed. One of the ingredients is rose perfume and i think this is what gives it the delicate but definite scent. Although it is quite delicate the smell hangs around for a while and even the following day you can smell it on your babies hair.
To use this shampoo you need to wet the babies hair and then it is recommended that you use 2-3mls shampoo(about half a teaspoon). I squeeze this into my hands and rub them together and then put it on my sons head. It always lathers up very well and so it always feels as though his hair is going to be very clean. It is then recommended to repeat the process again, making sure that you give the scalp a good rub. The shampoo gently softens and lifts the cradle cap from off the scalp, although i found i needed to use this at every bath time and for quite a few months until it cleared it all up. The shampoo is gentle enough to be used at every bath time and can be used from birth onwards. I still use the shampoo even though my sons head has cleared up as i really like the smell and i know in my mind that this is a shampoo that will keep his scalp clear, but will always keep his hair clean and healthy looking.
I was very sceptical at first as to whether or not this product would work but im definately glad that i tried it. It comes highly recommended by me.
When i bought this i paid £1.99 for it, im not sure how much it is now but i would imagine that it has probably gone up in price.
Summary: Definately worth a try
