      Undecided about this one

When my best friend found out I was pregnant, she very kindly bought me a gift set from the Cussons Mum & Me brand, which contained amongst other items, this body lotion. It is especially designed for use in pregnancy, to deal with issues such as dry and itchy skin as your skin stretches and expands. It currently retails for around £5.49 for 300ml, but there are frequently offers on this range of products in Boots and also Tesco.

The body lotion contains Allantoin to relieve itchiness, and Vitamin E, avocado, almond and grapeseed oils to hydrate and moisturise. Although I haven't been suffering hugely with dry skin, my bump does get a bit itchy sometimes, and I'm aware of the need to look after my skin to avoid stretch marks and dryness, so this was a very welcome gift.

The body lotion I received was a gift sized version, so it came with a flip top lid, however I notice that the full sized version has a pump dispenser lid, which would be better as it distinguishes the lotion from the other products in the range which all have similar packaging. The lotion is white, and very sweet smelling. It's difficult to describe the smell, but it's sweet with a hint of nuttiness about it, which I think is due to the almonds. It's the same scent as the bump cream I received in the same gift pack, which is great because it means I can layer it without clashing fragrances. Some days I do find the fragrance a bit overpowering when I'm using it all over my body, as it's quite sickly, although it does depend what mood I'm in.

I find the lotion to be fairly quick at absorbing into the skin. It looks a bit white when applied, but with a little coaxing it sinks into the skin well, and I'm not hanging round for ages waiting to get dressed. Although I'm aware of the smell after using it, it doesn't feel sticky or greasy, but I still only use it at night because personally I find the fragrance a bit much for daytime use.

After using this, my skin does feel hydrated and moisturised. I find if my bump is feeling itchy I can apply this and follow up with the stretch mark cream, and it feels lovely and nourished and smooth. I'm not sure I would purchase this one myself, however, purely because I'm not sure if it's doing anything that my other body lotions aren't, and also because I find the fragrance a bit overpowering. As a gift, it was lovely to receive, and if you don't find the fragrance too much it would be a welcome addition to a pregnant lady's beauty routine.
