I bought this from Mothercare for £14.99 and thought it looked fantastic as an alternative to a baby bath. You put it in the normal bath so there is no need to fill and empty a baby bath. It looks a bit like a deckchair and is made of mesh material with a pillow to go behing baby's head and a strap to hold him securely in place. It has two positions so it can lie right back or sit up higher and it is ideal because it allows mum or dad to have both hands free to wash baby which is especially useful in the early days when first time parents are all fingers and thumbs anyway! It is a lovely bright blue colour with fish on it and it looks cheerful and colourful - I loved it as soon as I saw it and thought it was a great idea. It is suitable from birth upwards.

However it did not come with any instructions so I did not know how to recline it and it took me ages to work it out. Also you have to lock it into place and I did not realise that at first, which could have been dangerous. After that I never really felt secure with it and I did not use it for very long as my son much preferred going in the bath with me and splashing about on my knee. He hated the seat so it was an all-round waste of money really, but I still think they are a great idea. One thing I would advise is that you fill the bath up high enough so that if covers baby's tummy otherwise they will get cold and I know most babies like to feel the water around them. Otherwise it is more of a top and tail than a proper bath that baby gets.

Summary: I doubt I would bother with one of these next time
