Advantages: Gets rid of cradle cap in days!

Disadvantages: Its a bit more expensive than normal baby shampoos.

Aimee (my daughter) first started to get cradle cap when she was a few weeks old. But at that time she had a fair amount of hair and you couldnt really see it that much so i opted to just leave it as i thought it would just come off its self. But as she got to 2 mnths old most of her hair had fallen out ready for the new stuff to come in (this doesnt happen to every baby!) and it was completely visible! It looked horrible! Her whole head was covered in yellow scaley looking dead skin!

WHAT IS CRADLE CAP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cradle cap (Seborrhoeic dermatitis) is very common in babies. Older children can get it as well but it is nowhere near as common as it is for babies. It is flakes of dead skin which gather and form a yellowish scaley cap on top of your baby/childs head.
It does not hurt your baby/child in any way but it can be very unsightly. Especially if its a young baby with not much hair as it is visible all the time. Or if your child has dark hair it can show up a lot in flakes through the hair.
HOW DO I GET RID OF IT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When i first noticed it on my daughter i didnt know what to do about it. So i went to see my health visitor and asked family & friends with children for their advice.

When i went to see the health visitor she told me to put baby oil on it @ bedtime and in the morning run her baby brush over it and it should start to come loose then after a couple of days doing that she said that it should go away completely.

So thats what i did. But a whole week later it still hadnt made any difference. Then when i was telling one of my friends about it she suggested that i try working the baby oil or olive oil into the cradle cap with a baby brush as that what she did with her baby and it took the cradlecap off within a week!

So i thought fantastic! Finally i might actually be able to get rid of it! As by now it had got worse!

But yet again this method didnt work either! But it wasnt till a week or so later when i took my daughter up to A & E with a rash (which turned out to be a teething rash! I was sooo embarrased!) That the doctor that was checking her over noticed her cradle cap and commented on how thick and big the area was that the caradle cap was covering! He then went and spoke to a couple of nurses and came back and told me to try dentinox cradle cap shampoo as many of the nurses had treated their own children and patients using this and it had cleared up in no time!

But i was sceptical! All these other methods that i had been told about were supposed to get rid of it in no time aswell!

So the next day when we went to the supermarket for shopping i managed to get dentinox cradle cap shampoo! I couldnt wait to get home and start using it! And amazingly enough it actually worked! Within a week and a half it was all completely gone! I couldnt beleive it! It was so simple! I just washed her hair with the dentinox shampoo every night and it dissapeared!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I myself paid £2.52 for it in Tescos. That was for a 125ml bottle. But if you shop around you will be able to get it cheaper.
HOW LONG WILL THE BOTTLE LAST?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Since you only have to use a 2 teaspoonfuls (4-6ml) each time you wash your baby/childs hair it lasts a long time! But i suggest you keep using it every time you wash your childs hair until the bottle is finished as that is what i did and my daughters cradle cap has never came back!

WHAT IS THE LOOK AND SMELL OF THE SHAMPOO?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The actual bottle itself looks very plain and medicinal. So i was expecting it to smell foul! But to my surprise when i flipped the lid up (the flip lid is great as it creates less mess and makes it easier to use) i was greeted with a rather plesant fresh smell!
The shampoo its self is actually very runny due to the high content of oils to loosen off the cradle cap.
It leaves your baby/childs hair very soft and as baby like as the day they were born!
HOW DO I USE THE SHAMPOO?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

* Wet your babys head with some water.
* Put a teaspoons worth (2-3ml) into your hands.
* Massage the shampoo into the cradle cap quite vigiourusly.
* Then rinse the shampoo off.
* Repeat these steps to wash the head/hair again.

The directions on the leaflet that comes with the shampoo tells you to wash your baby/childs hair every day twice a day until the cradle cap clears and afterwards till the bottles finished as it prevents the recurring of the cradle cap!

WOULD I RECCOMEND THIS PRODUCT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Without a doubt! I tried loadz of stuff befor i tried dentinox cradle cap shampoo and i now wish i had tried it first as it started to work straight away and it would have saved me a lot of time trying other things!
I've used this product on my own kids also and loved how quick it worked! PS it's also good for adults with itchy flaky scalp :-)
Sounds dreadful when when my two almost grown up sons were small, i used to rub olive oil onto their scalp. i don't know what a doctor would say, but it worked brilliantly. Good review x
